    Flash Buttons

    Dear All,

Not knowing much about Flash, how hard is it to used Flash Buttons in
the Category Tree in place of normal buttons?

Aren't the links "programmed" in the Flash Buttons? If so, how do you
handle the switching back and forth between secure and un-secure in a
    dynamic way?

Is this easier than I am trying to make it, or is it a pain as it
    appears to be.

Basically they want Flash Buttons instead of links or regular buttons in
    the Category Tree.

    Thank you,

    Nerd Boy

    Flash Buttons

Do you think the benefit really outweighs the cost to do this?

Personally I think navigation is the worst use for Flash. It excludes =
    any
browser that doesn't have the proper version of Flash and search engines
can't index Flash content or follow Flash links.

CSS would be as effective and more user and search engine friendly IMHO.

      Dear Chris,

I totally agree. I always try and discourage clients from doing things
I think they should not do.

Correct about the search engine linking (ok, maybe, just don't really =
        know)
however, Flash actually has a better chance of working in more browsers =
        than
"some" uses of CSS. As for the other questions, one: use relative =
        pathing
not absolutes to address the secure/unsecure...and it can be made =
        dynamic
but you'd need to have it call its own 'database'.

Depends on the desired effect, but yea, I'm a big fan of CSS myself as =
        it=92s
a lot less work, easier to update and lighter weight.
