    Dear All,

Looking for a Forum that requires the User sign up then receive an =
email to activate the Account. Basically a Double Opt In type of thing =
and to verify the email address is correct.

The other thing I need it to do is to allow Posting of Messages and =
Replies to various Forums for a certain amount of time. After the time =
expires people can read the posts but can no longer reply.

Basically need it to be able have multiple forums, threads, =
discussions (whatever term you want to use) that are unlimited for about =
60 days. After 60 days only reading is allowed. This does not have to =
be automatic, but can be done on a manual basis if required.

Any one know of anything like this?

    Thank you,

    Jeffrey R. Collins

This is from one of the discus (free version) admin screens. These are all
radio buttons & checkboxes on the screen.

These guys are pretty good about customizing the board for people who are
    willing to pay.

    Posting Privileges
    All Posting Disabled
    Public Posting
    Restricted Posting:
    Moderators:
Moderators permitted to edit this topic
    All board moderators
    Registered Users:
    All registered users
    Certain groups of users (Select)

    Posting Options

    General Options:

    Disable anonymous posting
    Disable e-mail address on post
    Disable full name on post

    Display IP Address on Posts:

    All posts
Posts by the public (unregistered guests)
    Never

Never display IP address on anonymous posts
Always display IP address on anonymous posts
Follow above rule for IP display on anonymous posts

As you can see, you can set it so that only registered users or "Certain
groups of users" can post. You can also see that you can assign moderators
to specific topics. It is very easy to customize in terms of appearance.
There are some other nice features. I have an example of the free version
    here:
