eBay buys e-commerce tools from Kurant

I was still running the eBay Site, www.ebaygear.com using Miva =
Merchant when eBay started their eBay Stores.

This is an interesting turn of events:

EBay will buy the technology assets of Kurant, a company that makes =
e-business software for small and medium-size businesses. The online =
auction company was primarily interested in acquiring Kurant's software =
relating to online stores, the companies said in a statement Thursday. =
Terms of the cash deal, which is expected to close by the end of March, =
were not disclosed. Kurant's flagship product is StoreSense, a software =
package for building e-commerce Web sites that includes software for =
supply chain management, secure transaction processing and wireless =
shopping. EBay expects to hire nearly all of Kurant's employees and to =
support its current customers.

Scot's Mailing List note about upgrading



Hi,

This is a note for the people who are upgrading from 1.x to 2.x of
Scot's Mailing List.

The uprade.mvc script is meant to be run one time only. If you want to
have a safe upgrade.mvc script that will not add extra database info if
it's run twice for some reason, download the zip file here that contains
the "fixed" upgrade script:

Some people have asked if they can test the script on their own site.
The answer is a resounding "yes". The file above will run in test mode
on your site until you purchase a license. The only restriction is that
