OT: Miva buying Viking Coders? :)

Viking modules rock and their support is super excellent. If Miva buys them or
not they will be successful because of the way they do business.

It would certainly make sense. MM5 makes some of the most popular Copernicus
and Viking modules essentially obsolete (plus OUI of course). Of the three,
only Darren has seemed bothered by that but he wasn't bought out.

Viking still has a lot of other marketable mods though so I hope your guess
is wrong. I'd really like to see them continue with the excellent work
    they've always done.

      I agree about Viking wholeheartedly.

As for future success that would depend greatly on the nature of the buyout
IF there even is one and that's still highly questionable at this point.
Just look at what happened to Copernicus' support when they were bought out
      though.

A buyout could leave things pretty much the same or it could change things
radically. It's all pure speculation until a formal announcement is made.

Yea I sure hope Miva does not buy them. It would be one less provider I =

Hehe, without any doubts the Vikings deserve a lot Miva-Dollars for their
work over the years, just like Ivo, William and Bruce (plus a few others of
course). Still, I'm hopeful that they all remain more interested in keeping
their independence and creative freedom - Too little variety makes things
          rather dull, IMO.

Which part? Copernicus, Viking, or OUI?

I wish the Vikings well regardless but I truly hope they're remaining
independent so they can come up more great ideas and I can continue to buy
              and recommend them.

A couple of the main additions to MM5 is the ability to use a MySQL database
which Copernicus has a module for and template control over the individual
store screens which Copernicus, Viking, and OUI all have modules for. Each
of those developers also has other modules of course but screen templates
are some of the most popular and they are (reportedly) no longer needed in
                    MM5.

                      Hi Rob:

In the MM5 admin under the store menu, click the
Pages link, then edit one of the pages to access
                      the page templates.
