      problem with java in head tag

      ------=_NextPart_000_0005_01C55A65.0A226470
      Content-Type: text/plain;
      charset="iso-8859-1"
      Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

      Hello,

      I'm trying to insert a simple javascript for my menu into the head tag. I
      inserted it, and the menu works and everything, but it gives me a "non-fatal
      warning [20005] (line 1/char 1) This string contains opentokens but does not
      start with %OUI%".

      The only thing that I can tell that is actually wrong with the site is a ">"
      inserted at the very top of the page above the global header. like I said,
      the menu works, it just has that carrot symbol at the top of the page and it
      gives me that error.

      Any ideas?

      Thanks!

      KC

          Change Payment Method Display

          A little thing that can be big. I'm using OUISuperMod to customize
          checkout pages. I'm using Credit Cards with Simple Validation plus
          Checks for payment methods. I would like to change the dropdown list for
          payment method to radio buttons and change the default from Check to
          Visa and resort the list. Is such a simple thing possible?=20

          It amazes me that there are people shopping online who don't know how to
          work a dropdown list..... It was confirmed by a phone rep today. Some
          customers are getting confused because you have to enter payment method
          with shipment method on one page and then enter the credit card number
          on another page. I tried moving them together onto one page but didn't
          find a way. It seems Merchant depends on the page change to set the
          payment method. Has anyone found a way to change this?

          A note to Miva:
          I bought a number of Copernicus modules in good faith that I could get
          basic questions answered in forums and in email. That has disappeared
          since you bought Copernicus. Could you let James out of the dungeon long
          enough to answer a few questions about his programs?=20

          Thanks for any help,
          Will Emerson

            It all depends on your situation. If you can optimize merchant pages and
            don't have a server load issue, why not use merchant pages?

              Hello,

              I have a question. I created my own search box in our miva store and
              duplicated the original form elements:

              * action="<priv>/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?"
              * added the hidden <input name="Store_Code" value="<priv>"
              type="hidden">

              Whenever i do a search , it just goes to the homepage as if it's not seeing
              a particular variable in the POST to tell it this is a search. Am i missing
              something here?

              Any help is much appreciated.

                I fought this fight with another list member today, got nowhere (I think).

                Miva can't stop them, as they are sent direct to you after the message
                is recieved from the list. That said, it would be great if they'd add
                something to the footer...

                  I'm far from an expert on Google so I'm just making an educated guess here
                  but I know that when I do a Google search I'll sometimes see a listing from
                  one domain followed by an indention and then a second listing from the same
                  domain. I don't know under what circumstances Google chooses to do that but
                  I would have to guess it's due to their algorithm deciding that two pages
                  from the same domain qualify for the same ranking (based on the search
                  terms) and would therefore get the #1 & 2 (9&10, 10063 & 10064, etc.)
                  position but it adds the indention to shows that both listings are from the
                  same domain.

                  If we assume that to be the logic, pages on the same domain with duplicate
                  content would naturally have the same ranking and would always display that
                  way giving such stores an advantage over their competition.

                  Again, I don't know if any of this is the case but it's the only thing I can
                  think of that makes Google's new policy make any sense.

                  I didn't have time to read the article, however, if they are doing this,
                  then I'm selling my shares in Google, cause it shows they are just being
                  stupid. There is no benefit from having duplicate content under the same
                  domain, so why invoke a penelty.

                    problem with java in head tag

                    That's what I figured since it worked.

                    I still don't understand the ">" at the top of the page though. it has
                    something to do with the body tag. I inserted it like I normally would, and
                    the carrot(sp?) appears. The only character like that in the body is the
                    closing ">", so I deleted it, updated it, and it got rid of it on the page.
                    I don't understand. It still works without the closing ">". I don't
                    understand why it's there in the first place, how deleting the closing ">"
                    fixed it, and how my rollovers still work with an unclosed onload tag....

                    any explaination you can think of?

                    thanks!

                    That's an OUI error message. It means that your code "appears" to be using
                    opentokens but you didn't make %OUI% the first five characters in the box
                    for that code. Assuming you're not actually using opentokens in that code
                    you can just disregard the message. If you are using opentokens then you
                    need to insert the %OUI% bit but, if that were the case, something wouldn't
                    be working because those opentokens wouldn't be getting parsed. Therefore,
                    you most likely just have something in there that looks like opentokens but
                    isn't so don't worry.

                    Subject: [mru] problem with java in head tag

                    Any ideas?

                    Thanks!

                      Hey Don,

                      You could use OpenLanguages but might not be good if you use storeman. You
                      can recreate the login screen with OpenUI. Here is how

                        I did some testing today and found some of our results containing the
                        sek url as the indented item, but then just as I did figured that would
                        be consistent; the SFL styles can in as indented. Continuing my not so
                        scientific analysis it looks as though some of our results that I'm
                        pretty sure that used have indented sek urls are now single SFL results.
                        Today I disallowd on the sek directory since our SFL links out number
                        the SEk results by 4 to 1 - hope I am heading off trouble and not in to
                        it.
                        Should be ok I think as it is in keeping with what google is really
                        trying to do.

                        For now we'll just live with the slow down when the spider feeds.
                        I'm not about to completely change horses in midstream at this point.

                        Thanks,

                          I'd go that route, but unfortunately, clients/friends/family may use
                          this 'service' too.

                          I have no problem with using it on personal email addresses, but don't
                          use it on a an address you use for lists. That's what yahoo/gmail are
                          for (btw, gmail is great for lists - and it has excellent spam
                          filtering. If you want a gmail invite, just ask).

                            Yea, I bet if you add:

                            Style="display:inline" to the form tag, i.e., <form Style="display:inline"
                            Method=....>

                            It will clear up the problem

                              Google Link/CBS Storemap

                              How do you get a "good" SFL link??

                              Was there an upgrade to SFL or storemap that does better? Why wouldn't
                              storemap write "good" ones if they work together?

                              So if we have to go in and change all the llnks on the html pages-- should
                              the category pages look like this?

                              <A HREF ="http://www.israeliproducts.com/page=IP/CTGY/Ahava">http://www.israeliproducts.com/page=IP/CTGY/Ahava</A>

                              instead of:

                              <A HREF ="http://www.israeliproducts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=IP/CTGY/Ahava">http://www.israeliproducts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=IP/CTGY/Ahava</A>

                              In other words... search and replace:

                              Merchant2/merchant.mvc?

                              That's always OK to do?
                              (Then how come merchant isn't programmed that way to begin with? Is that a
                              ridiculous question?)

                                The effect they use is specific to Internet Explorers JavaScript
                                implementation.

                                document.images.productImg.style.filter="blendTran s(duration=1)

                                Google "blendTrans" an you will find the MS website detailing its use.
                                Basically one image is cross fading into the other.

                                Check out the way the image changes when you select different colors in the
                                drop down list. Pretty cool. I'll bet something could be done similar with
                                PhosphorMedia's attribute module...
