    HELP! Merchant email PROBLEM

As suggested in the FAQ, install the free truXoft Customer Email module
    (<A HREF ="http://www.mivacentral.com/truxoft/?product=TRUXOFT-MMHTMLC) and then after">http://www.mivacentral.com/truxoft/?...RUXOFT-MMHTMLC) and then after</A>
making a test order, check the log file. If there is an error message, it
will probably tell you the reason, and if there is OK, then the email went
out, but was lost on the way - in that case it was very likely killed by
    your spam filter.

I went to the link you provided. I checked everything I could and
everything was fine. We still are not getting our Merchant emails. Any
    other suggestions?
    Thanks,

Can someone confirm for me that Viking COders' Continue Shopping module will
work with an Other Page Templates Basket page template? No response from VC

        Date Based Products

All of our products are date based and thus have built in expiration. Is
there a way to set it up so they automatically 'fall off'?

My father built a swimming pool in 1974. Either the images for Albuquerque
are more than 30 years old or someone has buried the swimming pool.

Re: OT: Copyright and Domain Names

Since I was at the USPTO.gov site, I checked. desktopdarkroom has not been
trademarked. There's a lot of confusion about trademarking, servicemarking
            and copyrighting.

However, it may have been filed with the state of FL.

Trademarking has to do with appearances of the name on goods, or classes of
goods. It falls under branding, conceptually.

I'm not a lawyer, but I am seriously dating one :) We talk about this a lot
because of the 'attack' on me, as well as the fact that I have a list buddy
elsewhere who has NASCAR breathing down her back. Totally unwarranted, btw.

The other co did that just to create confusion. I don't know if that is
            illegal per se.

I am compiling a list of copyright issues (mine and my friend's issue) so he
can post it to the IL State Bar Association discussion list. It is bound to
get a lot opinions. If you want, I can add your issue to the list :)

That's exactly the tact to take--make them PROVE ownership. I'm guessing you
              won't hear from them again.

You aren't using it to confuse anyone.

Go to the uspto.gov site, and their copyright site and read some of the
              rules about it.

*******ok - I just did this:

              http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield...ate=49lum5.3.1

I checked dazzle and shine, and then just dazzle shine.

And... this is a dead trademark. I'm not sure if this illegal to do (make
false accusations), but I would ask for their trademark registration number,
              or ignore them.

              *****

In addition, do a google search on those rules (they will be explained in
english on the sites of many lawyers).

Also - check to ensure that they do own the phrase, and see if it is tied to
              a particular class of item.

I'm having the same problem with a fool who has an application on file for a
trademark. I've successfully filed trade and service marks, so I know when
someone is stepping over the line. My person has an 'intent to use in
commerce' and hasn't even been assigned a legal reviewer yet. Each
application for a class costs $325. Copyrighting is less expensive, but...
I found another person on ebay who was going to pull all of their items
associated with this phrase, and I told them not to, at least not yet.

                OT: Trademark and Copyright Infringement

Trademark and copyright laws are pretty weird, but I think the litmus
test has to do with "identity"... in this case I think you are probably
ok, from what I have heard about this stuff. You simply using the
phrase in a standard sentence, is not the same as using the phrase to
identify an entity. So you are not useing the phrase in the same way or
                for the same purpose.
My daughter is in a prog rock band in Boston and name identity is
everything in the music business. Her band was called "Fluttr" (without
the "e"), they used that name all over the east coast for 2 years...
Went to Chicago for a gig, and after they came back they got hit with a
cease and desist letter from a band in Chicago that was called "Flutter"
(she had it longer than they did)
Even though the spelling was different, they had to change their name
since the pronunciation was virtually the same. Now they call
themselves Fluttr Effect (and had to get permission from her to do it),
but they still have the same domain name and it is perfectly legal...

(shameless motherly promotion here) visit their site
                <A HREF ="http://www.fluttr.com">http://www.fluttr.com</A>
to hear some really rockin progressive music created with Marimba, Elec.
                Cello, Guitar and drums...

one product is there, but it isn't

That would have been too much of a "Doh"

The product is checked ACTIVE. Should have mentioned in my earlier post.

I tried unchecking it and then rechecking it. Same error exists.

one product is there, but it isn't

My largest client processes about 600 orders a week.

Last week, two orders came through (8 hours apart) and the "Price Table
Based Shipping" was off by a dollar.

We only have 6 price ceilings. My client faxed the actual orders to me
and even after putting the exact same items in the cart I could NOT
                        replicate the problem.

Any idea what might have caused this miscalc? It is Miva's stock "Price
                        Table Based Shipping" module.

Running OpenUI with a Large variety of modules.

I'm not over-concerned over the burp, but would like to give the client
                        an answer.

You can always trade up to Mac mini. For ~$550 with memory upgrade it's a
pretty good deal if you don't need anything fancy or run extensive video
editing stuff. With 512MB RAM it runs even Photoshop and other big apps
very comfortably. About the only thing you don't get is Core Image support
(for fancy waterdrop video effects in Dashboard) but that's about it.

                                PPC tracking & conversion

Okay, I'm trying to wrap my poor aching brain around this to find out
if there is one single best way to include the various PPC tracking
code snippets Google, Overture, Find What, etc....

I don't know much about QwkTracker but it looks like it would do it
all. Then there's the concept of creating an Affiliate for each PPC.
But which way is best? I also heard a rumor that Chuck has a kicka**
presentation on how to do this very thing. It's all too confusing to
me - I thought some of these snippets have to go in the invoice footer
                                - but how do you put them in the invoice footer if you are using them
in the affiliate program? Or is it a combination of the two? Do they
conflict with each other? Or should I just go back to the idea of
using QwkTracker - will that unconfuse me?
