      Seriously OT: Google Maps



      The way most of my customers do it (and the way that seems to work the best)
      is to put APO/FPO as the city, select Outside US as the state, enter
      AA/AE/AP in the other state/province field, and then select US as the
      country.

      That gets everything you need to properly ship the order and correctly
      calculates shipping as going to a US address.

      Of course, there are a few customers who enter NY or some such as the state
      since that's where their mail is processed through but that doesn't cause
      much of a problem since address verification can easily fix that based on
      the zip. The only problem I ever see is the occasional one who enters Iraq
      or some other country where he's stationed since that does naturally through
      off shipping. I don't get too many of those though.

      In real world, how are you seeing the service member addressing their
      customer info? AA, AE, AP are not listed in the state codes in miva
      merchant. Are you seeing them put it all on one line? What are they
      putting for country, etc?

        Seriously OT: Google Maps



        They have to be at least 3 years old, as it shows Soldier Field in
        Chicago all dug out from when they rebuilt the stadium then... but still
        it is pretty cool!

            Seriously OT: Google Maps



            Dear All,

            Their Keyhole System has satellite pictures of the San Diego area where
            I used to live that was taken the second week of June 2004. I know exactly
            when it was taken because the 28 foot trailer I used to move was parked
            there only for that week and it is in the picture.

              site software based on Drupal but targeted at political organizations -
              and there is someone involved in that who is currently doing some neat

                OT: Tiger?



                Dear Bill,

                You know this info as well as I do, but my old Ship's Address (decomed
                now though) was:

                FCC(SW) Collins
                USS KINKAID (DD-965)
                FPO, AP 12345

                Could not remember zip (but if I ponder awhile it will come back to me
                seeing how I did three tours on the same friggin ship).

                Most military addresses are pretty much the same

                Name
                Unit
                Post Office, Region, Zip

                FPO in this case means Fleet Post Office and AP means America Pacific.
                Each unit in the military has their own Zip Code assigned to it.

                  Dear Bill,

                  Ha....96670 is the zip code to the USS KINKAID DD-965. I knew it would
                  come to me!

                  I think but not absolutely sure but I think the Zip +4 part 1203. That
                  is what is stuck in my head, but not sure if it is right.
