Hence, you must be a google ad words active member. We stopped using Google
AdWords because of the cost and sale ratio. Notice it doesn't say if you are
NOT a Google AdWords advertiser. Do you see that part? Not I ;) Seems to be
a perk to get more signups with the AdWords program and I am sure it will
get new people trying it and drive the cost of advertising per click through
the roof as they want it to.

Actually, it says your AdWords "ads" will run on Froggle if you've requested
them to run on Google's partner sites. You can get your items listed on
Froogle whether you use AdWords or not. They're just saying that an
additional benefit to using AdWords is that those "ads" can run on both
Google and Froogle. Froogle listings are still free and are not considered
      "ads".

Well, to find out... they give me a link to a form page to fill out.
Here's how it has transpired thus far (ymmv):
You go to the Froogle page, and send an email asking for datafeed info.
You'll get a confirmation email 2 days, 5 hours and 1 minute later. Email
is a confirmation email that they received your request for a datafeed.
About 4 days and 22 minutes after that confirmation, they send you another
email and password for a form page that has to be filled out. When this
formpage is completed and the submitted, you'll get this completion screen
          info:

          ----------
Thank you. Your form was successfully sent to Google.

You can expect to hear from us shortly.

If you do not receive an email within one week,
you may contact us at [email protected].
          ----------

Jumped the gun a bit, am I disqualified now? lol.

Doing my "email [response] within one week" stint,

              External HTML pages module?

I can't remember where I bought it, but there is a module called PM External
Description Files. It's listed as by <A HREF ="http://www.phosphormedia.com but I">http://www.phosphormedia.com but I</A>
can't find info about it on their site. Maybe someone else on the list will
tell you where to get it.

I used it and liked it, then I bought Search Manager and found it didn't
search these external files so I had to stop using it. Too bad, too, because
              it was nice and simple.

                External HTML pages module?

There are a number of modules available, but there is also a simple FREE way
                to accomplish this.
Create a category, dont add any items and place the html in the header /
footer of that category. As far as it showing in the category tree either
sort it in a way that these categories will show last, or if you dont want
this page to show you can place these categories as a sub category of
another category and make that parent category inactive. or theres a free
module from modstop that can hide categories from the tree.

                hope that helps!

                  External HTML pages module?

IIRC that module only works for OUI.

It's very easy to call in external HTML w/ JavaScript, but then of course
you have to ask yourself what the occasional user who has scripting turned
off in his/her browser will see, and how much you care. I use it on my
Search page, and if the user has scripting turned off, the only thing they
won't see is the "Tips for effective searches", which is ok by me.

                    External HTML pages module?

                    Hi David,

Actually, I was hoping to get away from having to cut and paste the
html source into the header/footer. I would much rather either use a
simple utility that loads an external page in place of the (in my
case) footer, or paste a small amount of html code that references an
external html file that is actually resident somewhere else. I've
made several attempts at using a short "redirection" script in the
footer, but it completely redirects me to the new page instead of
opening up the external page content within the footer "space". What
I would like to do is similar to what can be done using frames, I
just want to do it from within Miva. I looking for an easier way to
do what I already do now buy placing the entire contents of the
external html file within the footer.

                    Thx, Jerry

                        External HTML pages module?

                        Hi Jerry,

Check out Display Wizard Pro from DesignExtend. It will let you easily swap
in different, category-dependent headers by placing HTML files in your root
directory (the files must follow a simple naming scheme).

The site I'm currently developing uses a static nav that's a combination of
PHP content pages (non-Miva) that access their header via a Require
statement -- roughly the PHP equivalent of a server side include -- and Miva
pages that swap in the appropriate header based on what category or global
                        Miva page is selected.

This is *completely* seamless, as I still have to alter 7-8 header files
every time I make a header change, but it's very flexible and a heckuva lot
better than having to change dozens of pages for every little tweak. I also
use Viking's Static Redirect module on the non-Miva pages.

I can't show you the site at the moment because it's pre-launch, but it
                        works like a charm.

                        Cheers,

                            External HTML pages module?

If you are not averse to the idea of using JavaScript, try this:

Where you want to pull in the content, type:

                            <script language="javascript" src="whatever.js"></script>

Of course whatever.js represents the name of your javascript.

Then create whatever.js to look something like this:

                            document.write(' PUT YOUR HTML HERE ');

Of course putting your HTML where it says PUT YOUR HTML HERE.

Keep in mind that this won't work for people who have scripting turned off
                            in their browser.

                            HTH,
                            John Nasta

The Miva Corp supplied paypal module is very basic. If you need one
that allows default currency designation, conversion rate for not paypal
supported currencies back to USD, multiple payment icons on the checkout
screens, ability to use a hidden code to prevent hacker order
simulation, autofill customer name for new paypal accounts, a report
                                module for viewing sales for any time period or for specific products;
you'll probably want to get the inexpensive one at Design Extend (also
                                available at Emporium Plus).
