SimplePayment - simple but frustrating issue

I've been advised by Wil Stuckey of the MU list that my request below
can be done with OpenUI tokens.

Sure I could bone up on OpenUI tokens, but I've got more pressing stuff
to do currently (like look for land in MO!).

Anyone who knows OpenUI tokens and Viking's Order Status mod, please
contact me off list to see if we can work together (for pay) to
      accomplish the goal outlined below.

      Gordon
      eBirdseed.com

      ------------------

Vikings Order Status module includes token %orderdate%

I believe it formats date as 06/30/2004

Knowing that, can I use that token to create something like this for a
UPS tracking number search via reference field?

Below is a sample URL to retrieve UPS tracking info via reference
      number:

      <A HREF ="http://wwwapps.ups.com/etracking/tracking.cgi? ">http://wwwapps.ups.com/etracking/tracking.cgi? </A>
      TypeOfInquiryNumber=R&HTMLVersion=4.0&SenderShippe rNumber=OURUPSACCOUNTN
      UMBER&InquiryNumber=%ORDERID%&FromPickupMonth=5&Fr omPickupDay=25&FromPic
      kupYear=2004&ToPickupMonth=6&ToPickupDay=15&ToPick upYear=2004&SenderShip
      perNumber=OURUPSACCOUNTNUMBER&track=TRACK

UPS only stores this info online for about 30 days, so this retrieval
method asks to define a date range on either side of when the order is
      shipped.

IN OTHER WORDS, can I use javascript or OpenUI tokens to split
%orderdate% so that it would fit this format?
      FromPickupMonth=5&FromPickupDay=25&FromPickupYear= 2004&ToPickupMonth=6&T
      oPickupDay=15&ToPickupYear=2004

The beauty of this is that once your orders are imported into
Worldship, you wouldn't have to re-key or import tracking numbers into
Worldship. One link from Order Status (as formatted above) would do the
      trick.

Uninstall the Payment modules, then reinstall then in reverse order...or get a payment
        method sorting module.

WAY OT: Take a closer look

            Hello All,

I'm currently using Weiland's "Number of Items (grouped) or Free Shipping"
module to offer tiered flat rate shipping and free shipping over a certain
subtotal to US customers. What I'm looking for now is a way to offer the
same type of shipping worldwide (tiered flat-rate), plus I need a way to
make certain products have free shipping if purchased by themselves - ie.,
gift certificate. I may be wrong but I don't think I can accomplish this
with the module I have, so if anyone can suggest a module that would either
work with what I have, or replace what I have but still allow me to have the
same type of shipping setup, I would greatly appreciate it.

            TIA,
            Michael

              Shipping to the Caymens

Try going into the "customer fields" section of admin (expand the
'stores' tree, then click on your store name) and making postal code
              optional

How to solve the shipping problem:

They don't have postal codes. So how to tell MM to accept a e.g. XXXXX
or 99999 instead a correct postal code?

Thanks for the ideas but sorry, that's not an option.

It took again some hours before my posting showed up.

Meanwhile I figured out, that using 99999 is okay. Only UPS can't calculate
the shipping costs. USPS accepted the fake 99999 and came up with valid
                shipping costs.

Anybody any idea how to solve the UPS problem???

                  Dear All,

As some of you know I have been in the process of selling my house
                  in

San Diego and moving to some property in Missouri. For those of you who
                  did

                  not know, you do now.

The best made plans do not always work out. I have been driving back
                  and

forth moving things for about the last 4 weeks. Two weeks prior to that
                  I

was back in Arkansas and Missouri looking for property. I have been on
                  the

road for about the last 6 weeks or so. I had things all set up so when
                  I

got here: phones, Internet, Dish TV, electricity and such, all would be
                  up

and working at the end of my final trip.....well that did not happen.

Also In the process of moving I had to switch from Sprint for my

cellular service to Cingular, that has not been a smooth transition
                  either.

To top it all off, I am unable to retrieve messages from the old office

phone number, Sprint is working on it.

I have temporary phone lines running across the property. They
                  should

be hooked up today sometime. I got access to the Internet late Saturday

night and got the computers working last night. I currently have
                  Internet

access though Direcway Satellite (no DSL or Cable out here). My new
                  numbers

will be listed at the bottom of this email. My Cell phone does not work

here at the property (it does about a quarter mile away). The old 619

number will still be used for now.

There will be some information about the 30 acres I bought along
                  with

some pictures posted at www.ozarknerd.com <<A HREF ="http://www.ozarknerd.com>">http://www.ozarknerd.com></A>
later today / tonight sometime for

those who want to see the property. The short answer is I bought 30
                  acres

with a house, office building (used to be a chicken coop a long time
                  ago), a

real nice workshop, and some other storage buildings. There are 15
                  acres of

woods and 15 acres of pasture.

I do not yet have an after hours emergency number. I hope to have
                  all

of that set up by the end of this week. I will be changing all the
                  contact

information on the site and in voicemails today or tomorrow.

If you have sent me any emails, I will be wading through the 9885
                  emails

I downloaded. I will get to them as soon as I can. If it is urgent
                  re-send

the email. If you have left me a voicemail in the last week, please
                  send me

an email about what you left the voicemail for. I am not sure when I
                  will

be able to retrieve my voicemail messages. If anyone on the lists has
                  been

trying to get a hold of me, please send me and email.

                  Hi all,

Anyone know why the Verisign commerce library isn't working? It's been a

while since I've used it, any for some reason I'm not getting it to

work. Using latest version of the VM. I seem to remember someone saying

on the list that it had to do with an expired Verisign certificate (?).

The same code used to work in a previous VM version.

I'm not getting any error output when calling the commerce library

                  either.

                  Any help would be appreciated.

                  Ben

Love him or loath him, he nailed this one right on the head.............

                    By Rush Limbaugh:

I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the
September 11 casualty and those who die serving the country in Uniform are
profound. No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't
criticize anything having to do with September 11. Well, I just can't let
the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the
entitlement mentality of this country. If you lost a family member in the
September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range
is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million.

If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in
action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of
                    which is taxable.
Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you
get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month
for each child under 18. When the child hits 18, those payments come to a
                    screeching halt.

Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of
$1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough.
Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place
at the wrong time. Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and
they and their families know the dangers.

We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the Oklahoma
City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the
September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families
of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well.

You see where this is going, don't you? Folks, this is part and parcel of
over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country. It's just really sad.
Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, t hey usually receive next
to nothing of a raise. Now the green machine is in combat in the Middle East
while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent
                    housing. Make sense?

However, our own U.S. Congress just voted themselves a raise, and many of
you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a
pension that is more than $15,000 per month, and most are now equal to being
millionaires plus. They also do not receive Social Security on retirement
because they didn't have to pay into the system.

If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7,
you may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who
placed you in harm's way receive a pension of $15,000 per month.

I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks
before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and
                    daughters who are! now fighting.

"When do we finally do something about this?" If this doesn't seem fair to
you, it is time to forward this to as many people as you can. If your
                    interested there is more......................

This must be a campaign issue in 2004. Keep it going.

SOCIAL SECURITY: (This is worth the read. It's short and to the point.)

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years. Our
Senators and Congressmen do not pay into Social Security. Many years ago
they voted in their own benefit plan. In more recent years, no
congressperson has felt the need to change it. For all practical purposes
                    their plan works like this:

When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die, except
it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments.
For example, former Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may
expect to draw $7,800,000 - that's Seven Million, Eight Hundred Thousand),
with their wives drawing $275,000.00 during the last years of their lives.

This is calculated on an average life span for each.

Their cost for this excellent plan is $00.00. These little perks they voted
for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan.

The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General
Fund--our tax dollars at work! From our own Social Security Plan, which you
and I pay (or have paid) into -- every payday until we retire (which amount
is matched by our employer) --we can expect to get an average $1,000 per
month after retirement. Or, in other words, we would have to collect our
average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one month to equal
                    Senator Bill Bradley's benefits!

Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made .
And that change would be to jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from
under the Senators an Congressmen. Put them into the Social Security plan
with the rest of us and then watch how fast they would fix it.

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and
maybe good changes will evolve. WE, each one of us... can make a
                    difference..

module so SE's don't display results for a deleted product or category

                        Hi Jason,

Does anyone else ever have a problem with old products showing up in SEs?
Some of these old products were deleted from my store months ago.

                        Thanks, Eli Boone

Thanks for the ideas but sorry, that's not an option.

It took again some hours before my posting showed up.

Meanwhile I figured out, that using 99999 is okay. Only UPS can't calculate
the shipping costs. USPS accepted the fake 99999 and came up with valid
                          shipping costs.

Anybody any idea how to solve the UPS problem???

Try going into the "customer fields" section of admin (expand the 'stores'
tree, then click on your store name) and making postal code optional

They don't have postal codes. So how to tell MM to accept a e.g. XXXXX or

Hmmm.... It should be as easy as specifying the correct path for
your perl binary on the first line of the script, something like
                              this:

                              #!/usr/bin/perl

If the perl binary is in a different directory - specify the path
here. You can use "locate" on most unix systems to find a
specific file quickly if you don't know where the perl binary
                              might be hiding.

Don't forget to chmod the file to 755 (executable), otherwise the
server will not know it's an actual cgi script.

I'm trying to run a Perl script on one of my sites, but I cant
                              get it to
work. Online help for the script says that I probably didn't put
                              my
basepath into the script configuration correctly. BUT, I think I
                              have.
I remember seeing some little .cgi script that you could use to
                              call
your basepath, but I can't find it. Can anyone help?

COD availble for a certain product or category.

Is it possible to allow cod 'only' if a certain product is in your cart?

Or to make it even easier, a certain category?

                                Thanks
