module so SE's don't display results for a deleted product or category

Hmmm.... It should be as easy as specifying the correct path for
your perl binary on the first line of the script, something like
    this:

    #!/usr/bin/perl

If the perl binary is in a different directory - specify the path
here. You can use "locate" on most unix systems to find a
specific file quickly if you don't know where the perl binary
    might be hiding.

Don't forget to chmod the file to 755 (executable), otherwise the
server will not know it's an actual cgi script.

I'm trying to run a Perl script on one of my sites, but I cant
    get it to
work. Online help for the script says that I probably didn't put
    my
basepath into the script configuration correctly. BUT, I think I
    have.
I remember seeing some little .cgi script that you could use to
    call
your basepath, but I can't find it. Can anyone help?

Yep. I'm sure plenty of other people do too. Google's webmaster help crap
        has info on removing urls.

          Hi Jason,

Does anyone else ever have a problem with old products showing up in SEs?
Some of these old products were deleted from my store months ago.

          Thanks, Eli Boone

              OT: Base path PERL

Are you lost? This is a Miva and Miva Merchant mailing list. You can get
Perl help over at perl.com. I also suggest you contact the author of the
              script first.

OT posts of scripting flavors are fine but I think Perl questions would just
really scramble the brains of the newbies on the list.

Actually, I enjoy reading the Miva lists because they don't just focus on one
thing. I've learned everything from running a Miva Merchant store through
setting up cron through how to market a store through what the best domain
registrars are through how to spot fraudulent credit card activity, and lots
of stuff in between, from reading the Miva lists. Excluding religion and
                      politics, of course. ;)

Sure, dedicated discussions excluding things store-related probably belong
elsewhere, but that doesn't mean we can't all have fun and learn while we're
doing it. FWIW, I use a perl script on my site and it didn't scramble my
brains (they were already that way).

                        OT: Base path PERL

Yes. And I don't think that is even the answer. Basepath is typically the
"base path" used for the script, aka the place the script resides. Then
further paths and variables throughout the CGI script can use the base path
variable without reusing alot of needless code. I have never read any Perl
documentation where Basepath=Pathtoperl, but there are still a few scripts
out there I haven't worked with. They are usually wanting
/home/user/htdocs/cgi-bin or something to that effect depending on the host
setup for the users designated CGI area.

Matt, typically in the script documentation there will be a small note about
what they mean by "basepath". Look to the script documentation for an
                        explanation.

Are you lost? This is a Miva and Miva Merchant mailing list. You can get
Perl help over at perl.com. I also suggest you contact the author of the
                        script first.

OT posts of scripting flavors are fine but I think Perl questions would
just really scramble the brains of the newbies on the list.

I'm trying to run a Perl script on one of my sites, but I cant get it to
work. Online help for the script says that I probably didn't put my
basepath into the script configuration correctly. BUT, I think I have.
I remember seeing some little .cgi script that you could use to call
your basepath, but I can't find it. Can anyone help?

                          OT: Base path PERL

                              Tom,

Yes we do discuss all those things, but they don't have their own mailing
list. I belong to the Perl mailing list but I guess I can unsubscribe from
that one and post all my Perl questions here, followed of course by Apache,
                              ModSSL, OpenSSL, PHP, Qmail, MySQL, Python, and Jakarta. ;-) {jk of course}

Maybe I jumped the gun on that one. Sorry Matt!

Actually, I enjoy reading the Miva lists because they don't just focus on
                              one

                                Probably because you updated OpenUI??
You need to activate "english" in the OpenLanguage section
Finding this section can be confusing. Near the top of the admin tree,
you'll see your store name which you need to expand to find the
                                OpenLanguage section

                                What have I done now?

The labels on the Account Login Page are not showing. The fields and
submit button are there just no labels. Any ideas on what the problem
might be and how I can fix it?
