4 Tickets for Modstop, and they aren't for the Raiders!

    Ryan,

I hate to tell you this but that's been a well-documented problem with
ModStop for quite some time now. They haven't come forth with what exactly
is going on over there but complaints have been numerous. All you can really
do is hound them repeatedly until someone wakes up and decides to respond.

Then, spend the rest of your module budget with the remaining developers who
all do an excellent job with service and support.

Subject: [mru] 4 Tickets for Modstop, and they aren't for the Raiders!

    Hi everyone,

Have you ever had this problem??

I've put 4 support tickets in at Modstop and waited 2 weeks just for
updated versions of the modules I'm using. I supplied all the proper
information to receive the updated versions and for the life of me can't
get a response no matter what I do. Of course there is no phone number
so that is out of the question. I've had good luck in the past with
them but don't know what's going on as of lately. Just wondering if
anyone knows of issues @ Modstop since my store is down and I'm
    desperately waiting for Modstop's reply.

    Thanks for your help,

    Ryan

If you are running compiled, the module included is fine.
It's best if you can be running v4.21 of Merchant as it has the feature
of including some text for the CVV2 value in the authnet module.

I'm finishing a Miva store for one of my customers and they will be
using Authorize.net for credit card transactions.

Would it be safe to use the Authorize.Net Payment Services v3.1 module
      that comes with Miva?

Or do I need a module for this?

      Thanks,

              Importing products

If you are talking about importing products from another store... Yes.

Export the products as a flat file from the 4.18 store, edit the file to
contain only the products you now want in the 4.21 store, and Import to
the 4.21 store via flat file.

I'm a newbie and something just happend to my store which I don't know
how to fix. When you go to order, You had the option of siging in
without establishing an acount. Now that link is gone. Anyone know how
to help me get that option back on MIVA. Thanks! Jim Pearsall

                        Mornin' everyone!

Does anyone know if the standard "payment configuration" choices has one
that I could set up in the payment drop down menu something like "Call
                        In/Fax In Credit Card Info"?

                        Thanks!

I can't believe the difference that a good host can make. I recently =
                            moved
from OLM to HVHM.NET and I can now tell you that is was definitely =
                            worth the
minor inconvenience. OLM just doesn't understand Miva Merchant, =
                            couldn't
handle FrontPage 2002 (yeah, I know FP has it's own issues), doesn't =
                            keep
you up-to-date, blah blah blah. The real point is that it's not blah, =
                            blah,
blah!. I now get better performance, up-to-date systems, better e-mail
(including anti-virus & spam protection that doesn't just delete =
                            everything
), better mailing list software, a host that actually know what to do =
                            and
cares that things are set up properly. They continue to provide what I =
                            call
"delighters." I recently added OpenUI to the second of my websites and =
                            had a
problem with the installation. I opened a ticket with OpenUI. I =
                            casually
mentioned it to HVHM and before OpenUI could even respond, HVHM took =
                            care of
it for me -- now that's service.

I would recommend running away from OLM, not walking. There are many =
                            good
hosts (just read the posts here at merchant-users) and one of them will
                            surely "delight" you

I'd suggest you find a more quality Miva Host. The change in port =
                            would not
have caused the Internal Server Error. It would have just resulted in
timeouts and being unable to communicate with the Linkpoint =
                            server...which
as of late, has been having a lot of problems itself. Many folks are =
                            looking
for alternative Payment Gateways after all the issues with them this =
                            week.

Might want to read up about your host, and look at a few alternatives.

I haven't been keeping up as I should with the updates. I'm current =
                            hosted
by OLM, Linkpoint processing, running 4.00 with the 3.9xx engine. When =
                            they
changed processing port from 1139 to 1129 a few months ago, the =
                            customer
would get an Internal Server Error after the checkout. I'd get a few
duplicate sales when they refresh the transaction.

                            =20

I've looked all day regarding upgrading to 4.22, but it seems it should =
                            be
left on a weekday for the license issue. What is the cause of the =
                            Server
                            Error?

                              Help with error message

Go into your store admin and click on Categories.

At the bottom of the form, on the right, you'll see a box with the
number 10 in it. Change that to be higher than the number of categories
                              you have, then click update.

You're list should now show all of your categories. Now click on the
+/- in the blue bar above the first checkbox for the first category.
This will select all the categories shown. Then click Update.

Be sure you want to do this...it cannot be undone. (ok, it can, but it
would require a database edit - IF you havent packed.)

Once you're happy they are all gone, pack the store.
