So how many of you have actually upgraded to Merchant 5?
Unfortunately due to my heavy use of OpenUI and OpenDesigner, my v4
store will not accept the Empressa 5 update. Anyone else run into
this situation?
The Empresa 5 upgrade has nothing at all to do with OpenUI nor
OpenDesigner. The engine doesn't care if either are installed.
However, upgrading the storefront itself could pose more difficult since
you'll have to deactivate any OpenUI products or products that require
OpenUI prior to upgrading to Merchant 5.

It sure does if your 4.x store crashes on Empresa 5.

I don't want to put my hosting company on the spot here, but this is
where I sit:
"Your site is one of those that isn't working
with Empresa5 due to OUI. I've put it back
to 4.14 for now. When Miva releases an update
for that I'll try installing it again."
Problem is, I could be waiting for a long time for a fix from Miva.
I understand that I am going to have to re-code everything I did in
OpenUI and OpenDesigner using Merchant 5's customization tools. I
just want to throw this issue out there and see if anyone else is
running into the same problem with OUI stores.
Thanks,
Dan

Actually besides the compatibility issues with empresa 5
and some 4.x oui stores, this part about deactivating modules
is not correct either; you don't have to change anything in
your 4.x store when upgrading to Merchant 5 other than
installing one export module from Miva. Once you have the
export module installed, you export the upgradeable data
into an xml file and then effectively begin a version 5
store fresh with the data that can be brought forward.
The documentation on how to upgrade a store is here:
yes, empressa 5 has given other people's 4.x OpenUI stores problems.

I wonder how this will effect using Miva Mia locally? The version that is
available right now for download is 5.X
