    Process Orders thru Authorize.net

We currently use Authorize.net for our gateway. When an order comes in, it
authorizes it. When we're ready to ship out the order, we batch up the day's
orders and PROCESS those orders. At that point it successfully goes to
Authorize.net again and charges their card (from pending state). The orders
of course then disappear from that batch of orders..showing they've gone
    thru.

I recently upgraded our Empressa from 4.14 to 5.1 since we soon will be
looking into upgrading to Merchant 5. Everything works fine, and orders are
still getting authorized. It's just that now they won't PROCESS. Not sure if
it's related to Empressa 5.1, but seemed like it happened around the same
    time I did that upgrade.

I now just upgraded from Merchant 4.23 to 4.24 as if that would matter, but
just figured I would do it. Still doesn't work.

Looking at the Authorize.net message on each of the orders, it doesn't give
any error ...it says "This Transaction has been approved" indicating that
the original authorization worked. But nothing on the follow up attempt to
    actually PROCESS it later on.

Anyone have this happen, or know what could be causing this?

Other side notes.. running OpenUI and some other modules, but it's always
been working before as is. I am also using the standard Merchant Order
Batching module to do all this.

Thanks for any help/direction on this.

    Process Orders thru Authorize.net

    Rich,

well, one way to find out if it is the new binary or not is to go back
to the old one. That would at least let you know that it is indeed
something different involving the two binaries.

Also, did you update all of the libraries and certs that come with
    MivaVM 5.01 ???

Just a place to start I guess,

    Tim.

      Process Orders thru Authorize.net

      Hello,

This posted to one of the other groups last week by our developers:

"We have discovered a bug related to payment processing, in the 5.01 VM,
along with a workaround. Development is currently working on a VM
      update.=20

This bug only affects the 4.x Miva Merchant storefront and
pre-auth/post-capture payments that are then later completed (captured)
using the Miva Merchant "process order" feature."

That's good news... however, what is the workaround that can be used in the
        meantime?
The post doesn't mention it, and I can't find the original post about it.

          Process Orders thru Authorize.net

At this time the fix is to either manually process or to start using MM5.
This bug does not effect MM5 stores only the older MM4.

Yeah.. we'll have to manually process. We can't go to Merchant 5 yet, since
we have a lot of modules and will have to reprogram the way the store works.

I guess we can manually process thru Authorize, and then hit the mark as
            processed button...until there's a fix.

            thanks

... or roll back to VM 4.x if you are using Merchant v4.x. You only "need"
VM5 if you are ready to upgrade to MM5.

Forgive my assumption. I guess I figured since this is a Merchant5 list that
at least somebody on his server needed VM5 and that it was probably him.

                  Jeff,

The bug is in VM5 and not in the commerce library.

The Authorize.net AIM module for sale at MivaCentral doesn't use
a commerce library and thus should work.

If Miva support wants to give people licenses to use the module
as a temporary fix I am willing to allow them to do so at no
cost. As long as they issue the licenses, get the info to the
                  end users, etc.

                      Process Orders thru Authorize.net

I understood that, but I assume it is a bug unrelated to MvCALL
since Miva doesn't use MvCALL for their Authorize.net module,
thus I assumed that since ours does that there is a good chance
                      it should work.

Certainly Miva Support can test it and see if it will work. Or
                      someone else can test it.=20

And if it won't work, they can take the info from the tab the AIM
module displays and should be able to use that to run the capture
                      manually via Authorize.net's online tools.

I'm willing to help out in terms of letting them give the
licenses away I just can't help out by spending any time testing
it, issuing licenses, etc. because I am have too much to do right
now. I shouldn't even be typing this email. :-)

That's good news... however, what is the workaround that can be
                      used in the
                      meantime?
The post doesn't mention it, and I can't find the original post
                      about it.

We are allowed to install for select customers to assist with the beta
process. That is how they are finding bugs like this one. Nobody offered it
to you yet Kelly?! Shame on your host! Need a better host I suppose. ;-)

                            Process Orders thru Authorize.net

Ok...so all this aside... Any ideas from Miva when this bug will be fixed?

I don't want to rollback, since I have 2 clients ... one on a very complex
(added modules) version of 4.24... and the other a new development that we
want to start them on Merchant 5.

Any ideas on when we can expect a resolution? Otherwise, I guess I will just
roll them back to Empress 4.14 and have to tell our new client that they
have to wait before we start development on their new site.

                            Thanks
                            rich
