Miva VM Reliability - Windows vs Linux

Darren mentioned a few months ago that he was having stability trouble with
the Windows version of the Miva VM. I've also had similar trouble in the
past, and Markus also mentioned the same problem.

Here's my question, if I'm deploying a MVM application that needs
reliability, should I use Linux instead of Windows?

Also, any beta testers of VM v5 know if these issues are fixed?

Thanks for your comments in advance.

Miva Empresa (VM and not) has had a historical reliability
problem on Windows servers when any third party modules
are added to the store. Jonathan at Driftwood has said it
runs just fine with no mods though.

      Thanks David.

I'm not running Merchant (just a custom Miva app) and I've had reliability
trouble on Windows (especially high profile sites). I'm running the latest
version of Empresa on Win2K3 and haven't had any trouble lately, but I'm
hoping that it's not because the site doesn't have a lot of hits yet.
