Can someone tell me how I can send BCC emails using Miva SMTP?

So how is the binary string supposed to look after I make the change.

It currently looks like ( .To: .CC: .X-Mailer: )

uploads and timeouts



It has been my understanding that uploads do not timeout, but maybe
that's not the case?

I always figured that anything that happens in the
"Miva_ProcessFileUpload" function is immune from timing out, but when
I'm testing something locally on Win2000 with the Miva VM, I find that
I'm getting time-out errors.

Anyone know what the scoop is?

I wouldn't be surprised if Mia and Empresa behave differently on this.
Actually I've never tried testing upload using Mia - I've always just
assumed that it was one of those things like MvSMTP which won't work
without a full-fledged webserver.

One caution with upload: If you are allowing upload of large files, ensure
that you "Nice" Empresa in te server config (i.e. set it to run at a lower
priority than http). We have a client with an ftp/http upload facility,
since some of their clients cannot use FTP because of firewalls. A 90MB
upload the other night consumed 90%CPU for two hours before the server
admin killed it. Miva has now been niced for that domain!

Actually, it appears to be timing out on empressa as well, but it
doesn't say timeout- it just stops and the page is blank.

Basically it's importing data from a text file, but it only gets about
4000 lines down before it stops. Guess I'll have to figure out a
meta-refresh loop on it so it doesn't time out.

following. Is this correct?

No, it is not. Just follow the instructions and replace the "CC: " with
"BCC:" keeping the ASCII value 0 (_NOT_ the number "0") where it was,
without changing the length of the file. You best use a hex editor. Btw, all
this is explained in the article.

I was a little confused before. Anyway I fixed this using the hex editor and
it works great. One thing though. All of the BCC emails show the TO address
as the main TO address in the smtp instead of their BCC address. Is this
normal?

uploads and timeouts

I had this problem as well. It appears that my browser (or the server?)
would drop the connection before the script would time out, therefor, no
error message but the script continued to run. But, howewever, I also had a
10 min max. ecxec. time set by my IHP on the server machine itself, so
eventually the script stopped at 10 mins. I had to check the
s.dyn_time_remaining (?) variable and refresh when it got close to 0.
However, I wasn't uploading, but rather importing a very large .dat file.
