    Synchro Upgrade

The new upgrade is fabulous!!! I love the field mapping and am so glad my
orders with assembled items are importing.

    A couple things...

First, when I try out the very nifty-sounding SynchroHelper tool for payment
information, all I keep getting is an error communicating with Miva Merchant
dialog box. Any idea as to why this is happening? Is there a connector
module upgrade that I need to install and didn't see on the ftp site?

Also, I still can't get Synchro to import payment terms correctly.
Everything but PayPal defaults to the first term in the QB terms list. I
have it set to create/use the miva merchant terms but it is ignoring me
(except for the paypal orders). Any ideas here?

    TIA,

    Tiffany Shacklett

    Hi Tiffany,

Yes, there was a module update that should have applied to your store
automatically. The module is v1.5001. You can find the module on your PC in
the default directory for Miva Synchro, usually C:Program FilesMivaMiva
    Synchro.

For the payment error, could you send me your log files offline to
    [email protected].

    Thanks.

      Jimmy,

When you have an answer on the payment method, please post the answer.

            TIA,

              Arnold,

Are you by chance using Authorize.net? I find it a strange coincidence that
SynchroHelper won't retrieve payment information either. Maybe Authorize is
the common denominator. Is anyone out there getting their payment terms to
import correctly, or getting the SynchoHelper to download CC information? If
so, what payment gateway are you using?

              Jimmy,

I have since changed synchro to use a fixed generic term "credit card" so
I'm not sure my log files will be of much use.

                Synchro Upgrade

                Tiffany,

We use linkpoint, so the problem must be broader in scope, although it =
                is
strange that PayPal manages to get set its payment option (it being a
separate module). I have a sneaking suspicion that the problem has
something to do with the payment type already being defined in QB prior =
                to
MivaSynchro entering the picture. In our case, I'm pretty sure it was
MivaSynchro that created the first "PayPal" payment type.

Also, in regards to the CC info, there were earlier posts to this group =
                but
I don't know what the final verdict was. I seem to recall there was a
problem with security and QB not allowing it. I'm sure Jimmy will have =
                the
                answer to that one.

I'm a little reluctant to install the latest version b.c. the old one =
                is
working adequately and the last time I upgraded (from beta version to =
                first
MivaSynchro release), it took a lot of time and a lot of tweaking to =
                get
                things working again. =20

                  Synchro Upgrade

                  Arnold,

We had PayPal defined before we began using Synchro, so I doubt that is the
problem. One of my earlier theories was the opposite of yours; that you had
to have all the terms predefined in Quickbooks before it would work.
However, as you know, that is not the case. I guess it's back to the drawing
                  board...

My CC problem has to do with a new feature that came along with the upgrade
called SynchroHelper that should "retrieve" the payment info associated with
a particular invoice/sales receipt and allow you to cut and paste that info
into the QB customer db. It doesn't import the info directly, but it should
help prevent data entry errors. If you haven't installed the upgrade, I
personally recommend that you do so. The install was painless, it runs a lot
smoother, and fixes a lot of the problems. The only tweaking I had to do to
make it consistent with the previous version was to get it to import new
customers using the bill-to rather than the ship-to name, but that was easy
                  to do.

                    Hi Users,

We found the bug with the Payment Terms not being read from Miva Merchant.
We're working on a patch for that right now. I'll post when it is available.
An email will be sent to registered users also.

                    Thanks.

The only tweaking I had to do to
make it consistent with the previous version was to get it to import new
customers using the bill-to rather than the ship-to name, but that was easy
                    to do.
