    Review of Syncro

I am considering purchasing Syncro. I have herd that it really isn't
working. That is, there are many "quirky" bugs that just make it
frustrating to use. Is there anybody that can give me a glowing (or not
so glowing) report on the functionality of syncro. This would be a
mission critical application and I am concerned that the glossy
advertising is not consistent with actual deliverables.

    Thanks...
    Dean.

    Aaron,
Thanks this is a big help. =20

    Anybody,
Has anybody looked at the Burns QuickBooks module? =20

I guess one of my big "concerns" is attributes. For example, I offer a =
"gift basket" that the customer can fill with 6 items from a pick list =
of 50 items which are also individual products in the store. I need to =
be able to import into Quikbooks the basket item number AND the list =
of 6 items. BUT, not the "attribute item number". If I had to build a =
QB item for each possible combination, I would have 10's of thousands =
of QB items. Will Synchro handle this?

    Is the Inventory synchro working?

    Thanks...=20

    Dean,
We have been using Synchro for about a month. It does have a bug or two =
    but
all of the bugs that we have found were not really bugs but we just did =
    not
have it set up right. After the setup was complete, it has worked =
    great.=20

    Biggest problems we have found-->

Does not sync credit card numbers -big deal for us as we have to log =
    into
    miva to get each number

Does not "fill in" order numbers that come out of order. Eg- someone =
    still
shopping with order #1233 and order #1235 has checked out. When you =
    sync
order #1233 will not ever be loaded because it notes that the last =
    order #
is 1235. We just always check to be sure the numbers are all accounted =
    for.

The program is a cpu and memory hog! It would not run (got the "program =
    is
not responding error") on our 2.3gig Celeron w/750meg ram. It runs
flawlessly on our 2.8 Pentium w/500meg ram, though.

All in all- much better than nothing. They are working on a fix for all =
    of
these problems. Great for adding lots of products into Miva.

    Hope this helps,
    Aaron

      HI Dean,

I have both, but the Synchro module hasn't worked right since day one, so
I'm waiting until they get things straightened out to try it again.

The Burns Module works great. Quick, clean, and simple with none of the
current problems of Synchro. It works great for my needs. Your mileage may
vary, depending on your needs. Once you set up your products, etc., it zips
      right along.

We are doing fine with Synchro. The possibility of missing orders that
come in out of sequence is a hiccup that can be worked around as long as
        you are diligent.

The Burns Module looks like a good product for synchronizing orders, but
does not synchronize products automatically. Because we have so many
products, that was a show-stopper for us, and we went with Synchro.

          Hi Dean,

We have addressed all of the concerns that we were able to within the limits
of the QuickBooks API. These fixes will be in the next release of Miva
          Synchro.

To answer some of your questions...

Yes, Miva Synchro will bring over your product attributes. When it imports
the orders, any products that have attributes on them will show up on the
invoices/sales receipts with line items for each attribute option the
customer has selected. It will not bring attributes over to the product list
in QuickBooks, mainly because QuickBooks does not really have an area to
          handle this.

I haven't heard any complaints from any Miva Synchro users regarding the
Inventory. Keep in mind that the inventory synchronizing is one direction
only, from QuickBooks to Miva Merchant. The way inventory is handled in
QuickBooks forces us to only accept Inventory changes in QuickBooks to be
applied to Miva Merchant and not the other way around, unless there was an
          order for the product.

          Thanks.
