Someone told me about this group, hopefully I can get some help ...
here's a post I put on the Miva user's group.

Does anyone have any similar experiences with Miva Synchro - I really
need this product bad, but I can't get the initial loads to work even
with just a couple of test orders. If there is anyone that knows
Quickbooks/Synchro, I'm happy to pay a reasonable fee for some help to
get this to work. I am in contact with Miva technical support, which
will be several days for each problem, and looking for a little quicker
    way to get synchro working.
    =20
We're not having much luck getting Synchro to work - I would suspect
when it works, it works well, but I think that the Miva team didn't
figure that existing Quickbooks files would need some adjustments to
insure that it works - and there is no service to evaluate any
compatibility issues between your quickbooks approach and the Miva (for
example, our product info is loaded consistently to quickbooks and =
    Miva,
Customers in Miva are different - user assigned customer names =
    usually).
There is absputely no forgiveness if there are any errors, and if there
are errors, the synchronizations abort with a cryptic error that has no
meaning - here are two of the errors that I get now:
    =20
Quickbooks Error: Object "39B0000-1072807098" specified in the request
cannot be found. Quickbooks error message: Invalid argument. The
specified record does not exist in the list.
    =20
Quickbooks Error: The query request has not been fully completed. There
was a required elements (1D70000-1072933686') that could not be found =
    in
    quickbooks.
    =20
Absolutely no clue what's happening, and then the synchronization
    aborts.=20

When I start with a blank quickbook file, things work better, and my
hopes come up ... until I try on a copy of my active Quickbooks file,
and then the uploads abort on the first record!

Rick, I don't use Synchro or Quick Books, but look at the archives, for
explanation. Those who get it to work kind of are few and many can't get it
to work, there's an open letter to Miva that's been posted in the last few
    days, cyn

Thanks for the reply. I also work for high tech s/w, and I can see being not
prepared for issues, etc, but I can't see things like getting these very
cryptic quickbooks errors and not posting what generally to look for when it
happens, unless it's fundamental bug in the software. Everyday I don't have
this, I spend time typing in orders into Quickbooks. So, I see that someone
will be aggregating the overall set of issues, so please add mine to the
      list.

But more basically, Miva needs to have a response to each type of error
posted and either a) what to look for and how to work around, b) it's a bug
in the sw and status on being fixed, or c) it's being investigated -
standard practice for software companies especially for early products.

I'm not a beta customer, I paid $400 for the software because I need it to
      improve my efficiency, etc.

Any advise from the group on how to get things to work, I'll take it, seems
like a good way for a consultant that knows Quickbooks, Miva, and XML to
      make a good living ...

I sent the log files, and just got a reply (4 days response time) that says:

looks like this product, Lampholder Twistlock for T3-1/4 Wedgebase lamps
(555,etc), is either missing from QuickBooks or it is inactive.

The problem is a) it is in quickbooks, b) it is active in quickbooks ....

Now I guess it will be another 4 days for my next turn.

              Rick,

Looking at your ticket, it shows that our support representative left a
message for you on 1/13/2004 for you to call back to get the information on
the ticket. That was one day after we received a copy of your log files to
go over. If you have an update to your ticket, you will want to contact the
support representative working on your ticket. That way, you can ensure that
all information is kept in the same place.

              Thank you.

                Synchro woes

                Hi Heather,

                Ok, here's what's going on...

Miva Synchro has a database file in your Miva Merchant storefront that keeps
track of two things. The Miva Merchant Product ID and the QuickBooks ListID
for each item. The ListID is unique to each product in QuickBooks. The
database is used to cross-reference the synched products so Miva Synchro
knows which Item in QuickBooks has been synced with which item in Miva
                Merchant.

If you create a new QuickBooks Company File to use with Miva Synchro after
having already synced before, then you need to have those databases reset.
To do this, you would go into Utilities in your Miva Merchant admin, uncheck
Miva Synchro Connector, and click on Update. Then, pack you store's Data
files and turn the Miva Synchro Connector module back on. From that point,
no products will be synched. You will then run Miva Synchro to re-setup the
connections between Miva Merchant and the new QuickBooks file.

                Thanks.

                Jimmy,

I got the button under the Orders Properties screen to go 'black' by
reloading a new Quickbooks Store File from scratch, but still oget the
following error message when I try to Synch the orders. I first was able to
Synch just the customers and Inmventory iterms without a glitch. Then I
tried adding Orders but ge the following (attached/captured) screen:

What gives? I Synched all my valuable Miva store data to a 'clean'
QuickBooks Premiere 2004 store template thinking this would be the most
error-free approach and since we are just starting to use QuickBooks at all.

I gotten Synchro 1.0 to synch my customers and my Inventory items pretty
soundly so far, but cannot get the Order Synch function to work.

                Thanks

                Thank you.
