Installation on VPS with Plesk or Cpanel

I am trying to find some instructions on how to make the Miva virtual machine work on a VPS that's managed by Plesk or Cpanel. Both panels will default httpd.conf if Miva is not intergrated with them. Even though both Miva and Plesk claim that they are partners, there is no do***entation anywhere on how to do this.
Have anyone been successful installing Miva on server with Plesk or cpanel?
I have spent hours on the phone with both companies and I did not get any help.

Absolutely. Setup is pretty similar to standard Plesk server, whether under VPS or not. You need to add all your Apache changes to your sites' /conf/vhost.conf and /conf/vhost_ssl.comf files, and then install Empresa as per standard MIVA directions.

If you can wait, Plesk and MIVA just signed a deal where Plesk will integrate MIVA Empresa/VM and MIVA Merchant within its control panel system for easier one-click integration (sort of like Ensim had for the past 7 years). If you cannot wait, however, for the next update - simply edit or create the above two files on your domains, after creating them in your VPS, and add the required application types there. If you search standard Plesk forums or their knowledge base, the info is already do***ented there. It may not be under the VPS section, but it's definitely there under Plesk.

Works like a charm, too, in case you are wondering. ;-) Don't know about cPanel - we don't use that one.

Thanks for your reply but I already search all the Plesk forum and contacted Plesk support and they told me they don't know how it will work yet. They said I was better off talking to Miva. I talked to Miva and they did not know what Plesk was. They send me to this forum saying that Miva developers read it.

From what I know any manual entries you do to
      /conf/vhost.conf and /conf/vhost_ssl.comf
will be overwritten by Plesk when you restart server. At least that was my experience. This is why I am trying to find someone who's done it before or can point me to do***entation that was tested.
If anyone can point me to some specific URL that would be great.

That is a bit incorrect - the vhost files are there precisely so you can add your own stuff into them as any changes made to the Apache config files (httpd.conf) will be wiped after a reboot. The vhost files will stay as is.

I'm surprised that SWSoft couldn't help you with this, as they most defiitely do know what MIVA Merchant is and there are a few docs on their site explaining how to set it up in Plesk. Contact your SWsoft account rep and ask them to forward you the info if you can't find it. I'd look it up for you but I'm literally heading out the door to attend a hosting conference in Vegas (where both SWsoft and MIVA will be, too)... sorry! :-) If you do get stuck, feel free to email me - I'll be checking my email later from the hotel and if need be can send you some pointers.
