Exactly what 'overwrites' when applying base readytheme?

I'm updating a store for a client from the old non-responsive site to the base readytheme. But the warning message for the install is scary -- Warning: This process will overwrite your Page Templates, Components and all associated data as described in the Framework.

Before I click the 'Apply' button, does this mean the content on the existing site pages will be lost in any way?

And if so, what's the best way to save/export that content to repost it back to Miva?

    Thx...

Followup, does it overwrite any custom Header or Footer text or html on those pages too?

Yes it does overwrite pretty much any and all custom you have done so be prepared.

Best bet is to have a copy of the store made to a dev site.
      Then in the dev site.
Make sure you have made a copy of your current framework.
Apply the new framework and then start adding back in all your custom coding.
You may find that some of it is no longer needed because it may be built into the new framework for you.

        Thx Mark.

I figured as much, so I began copying out all of the header/footer content and customizations from the Pages right after posting my question.

Besides the Pages, did you notice any other content that was lost? Product details, categories, etc?

Miva would help its users if that WARNING message was more clear and specific...

It has always left my products and categories in tact. The new ready themes seem to have an ability to add categories/products that you can delete. The reason for saving the current framework first it to make a copy of all your stuff that you can switch back and forth between.

It does not remove template history so you will have the ability to recall versions where it was possible to do so before.

Chances are you will not want to recall very much but instead add your customizations back into the new templates that are created... Things like product custom fields displayig on a ctgy or prod page etc.
