Since I never got any sort of response when I first brought up, I figure I'd better move this here.

This looks like it's going to be Google's next carrot that they dangle over store owners. Or maybe it's the next stick they beat them with. Are any of the ReadyThemes being tweaked for this? It almost sounds like Google wants store owners to go back to the two separate layouts - a desktop and now this AMP stuff.

In my opinion it's not worth jumping on until Google adds ecommerce to the specification. If/when that happens, or what that will look like is yet to be determined. It's one thing to apply AMP to a news article/blog post, however ecommerce is a completely different animal.

We're studying adding AMP to Mobile Pages in Ready Themes, but like Dan said it's still very early.

The AMP project seems to be a work in progress, however, I think that it will eventually be a ranking factor in the future. I'm glad Miva is looking into this.

Same idea applies for Facebook's new Instant Articles API, but that would really be for blog content, not dynamic shopping content.

As I continue to read articles on this (the latest one from Practical Ecommerce http://www.practicalecommerce.com/ar...-for-Ecommerce) points out some of the issues but also links the reader to Getting Started with AMP for E-commerce https://amphtml.wordpress.com/2016/0...or-e-commerce/ which seems to indicate a "hybrid" site is the way to go.

This sort of reminds me of how many of us used Bill's Toolkit eCommerce layout which gave users a simple pared down mobile layout. Would this a possible way to go with AMP? Start off with parred down version that smartly switches when going to checkout.

At this time, all I'm doing to the module is tightening up the install/uninstall and getting marketing copy ready to go.

The module will be available as soon as I finish working on the FAQs and related info. AMP eCommerce falls into their "experimental" category. It works but due to the limitations of AMP HTML/CSS/JS there are still things to be worked out. I'll be following the AMP project and continually updating the module and templates as new features and bug fixes come out.

Interesting, before I looked at the pages, my first thought was a concern over duplicate content. If this is what Google wants, I don't think there will be any worry there. I truly didn't see how anyone would have enough information to make a purchase with that little information that an AMP page seems to have - until I clicked the "Buy" button. Perhaps the "Buy" button could be a "More" button?

Something odd happened too while I was trying to view the pages (using Chrome) - all of them gave me the dead face with the "Oh snap" message.

That duplicate content for my install is mainly for show- I only have one category and I put it in the config as the bottom slider. "Normal" stores with multiple categories, best sellers, related products, etc, won't have the duplicity going on.

Error- I'm using chrome and chrome canary, no "oh snap" errors come up, interesting! I'll see what I can do to reproduce that.

Buy/More button: the function of that button depends on the config and I do agree that "more" woudl be better when it doesn't actually add the item to the cart. My pricing for licenses is all attributes so instead of adding something to the cart I have it set to go to the product page. I could also put tons more information in the AMP display as well, but I'm just going with my basic product description. You can use custom fields and have all sorts of things going on in that AMP product page.

I didn't and I think the one here is a Gmail address, so that makes it strange - not even in the Spam folder.
