Special symbols data-icons

Today I had problem with special symbols and characters like Slider symbols and Search in MS Edge and Opera browsers. I Think I´v seen tips on putting data-icons localy on my server.
How can this be done and what are pro and cons. Or do you have an article that explains it.

Which ReadyTheme are you using and can you post a link to the site in question?

I cleaned the cache and I got my data-icons back.
I use iron-and-wool with http://www.cigarrummet.com.
But I guess the fonts and Icons are used in all the themes.

It is the first time I see the data-Icons disappear so I kind of panicked .

Also check your sourcing. Some browsers get very particular about access CSS via 'http' while your page is accessed via 'https'. In other words, it may look good to you now, but customers may come across a broken site.
