Using Superfish menu in place of the ReadyTheme nav bar menu

I'm going to attempt to use the Superfish Megamenu instead of the ReadyTheme megamenu (not enough depth to it). If anyone has attempted it, tips and gotchas would be appreciated. My stumbling block seems to be with the javascript files, something's not firing. Not seeing any errors, it's just asking like the javascript isn't working.
