Need Inventory Variants, but not track Inventory

We have a set of products that will not run out of stock. I need inventory variants to control different images and pricing. In the Attribute settings, I have to check the "I", so that I create the variants. My master product has Inventory turned off, so the Add to Cart button is automatically disabled.

Is there a way to have inventory variants but not have inventory on for individual products? I can only think of setting the inventory levels really high, but that's not ideal.

Just uncheck the track low stock and hide out of stock and otherwise run it like you have inventory. You'll end up with negative numbers for inventory but that shouldn't matter in this case.

I forgot to change it away from the default settings. Working as hoped.
