Well, actually, no guitars...

Reminder that PayPal now keeps transaction fees on almost ALL transactions (if business account). That means, if a client uses PayPal to pay you, and they make a mistake (like paying twice) PayPal is keeping that fee (even if its in the hundreds)...

So...gunna have to move payments off paypal.

What's every one else using? Think if going with payments directly through QB or something...but I like to keep it simple.

Bruce - PhosphorMedia seriously? PayPal has been good in the past if there were ever any issues. How can they 'keep' the fee, if you end up refunding the client?

ah...cause they can? I think this changed a month or so ago...just for giggles I'm going to see if they'll refund it. The client literally clicked the submit button twice BY ACCIDENT!

I contacted them (through chat) and they did offer to refund the fee "as a one time courtesy". I duly informed them that while I appreciated that, we'd be looking to replace paypal with another system.

A lot of clients have moved to ACH based payments...which is great cause there's no fee and I don't have to do any additional transfer steps. So, I'd just need something for the more part time clients.

Bruce - PhosphorMedia we are looking as well to an alternative to PayPal. The fees are just making me kinda 'sick', especially when looking at them at year end. We only have a couple clients using ACH - what did you do to get yours to use it? Do share :)

that somebody has to pay those fees and it's not going to be me :)...seriously, just being upfront about it. no need to get the other's involved. i think it helps if the client is using something like QB for finance management cause you can send/receive directly from QB. So, the import the invoice...click Paid...and their done.
