Catchy subject line. Actually all day yesterday I went through the process of capturing the data from my 4x store (much of the core Miva code in that highly customized MMUI store was from as far back as Aug 2002) and converting it to 5x.
I found a few bumps in the road. I had to use an older upgrade5 file which produced a 65MB provide.xml file. Then I edited that file into smaller files so that I could create the 5x store manually as CSSUI, then import the data I needed. The newer orders export does not export all the orders so the older upgrade5.mvc module was needed. Unfortunately, it was a beta and did not export the order dates. So I had to write a script to capture those. I also had to fix the inventory settings as it assigned tracking to all products, even though 1/3 were not supposed to be tracked. Then I had to assign a handful of modules with some basic functionality.
The new Emporium Plus store is up and running as of this morning at http://www.emporiumplus.com/SFNT.html To celebrate the occasion and expedite the testing I created a 30% off coupon "New Year" for today only. Hopefully, by the end of today I'll have enough orders to work out all the kinks.
