Yes, like you, we have a lot of low cost products that can ship First Class Mail. We've lost sales because all we can give customers is Priority Mail or UPS. Most folks don't want to pay $5.00 to ship a $1.50 product.

Gotta love the USPS!! Only the government can take a simple process like mailing a package and turn it into complete mess.

It's an annual event. I completely forgot to check the store until I noticed all orders coming in were coming in on the rollback method. I am losing order too. This is major shopping time for my business. Unlike most stores I'm dead at Christmas but come Jan 1st it's a madhouse. I'm losing a lot of sales right now.

When I was unable to upgrade my v4 module I looked closer and realized that I am using USPS International Shipping Ver.3.24 on my live Miva 4 store, not USPS Advanced. Is there a work around for this module as well James?

Hi Psydde,

I know this is a repost - but for the record the old "USPS International" module was End-of-life 3/25/2008, and is replaced by our USPS Advanced module. We will not be issuing any updates to the retired module.

On a MM4 site with Shipping Supermod and USPS Advanced. I checked the following methods in USPS Advanced and updated. They show as checked:

First-Class Mail® International Large Envelope**
First-Class Mail® International Letter**
First-Class Mail® International Package**
First-Class Mail® Letter
First-Class Mail® Package

Running Shipping Supermod Acquire Methods, the following methods did not come through:

First-Class Mail® International Letter**
First-Class Mail® Letter
First-Class Mail® Package

Hi Chuck,

The methods in Shipping SuperMod are referenced by "method code", which in the case of our USPS module is a numeric ID identifying the method itself, not the name. This is what allows the Shipping SuperMod to "rename" methods.

So interestingly for your store, Large Envelope DID come in, so this was the only new ID used for your store, the other "renamed" methods were mapped to their existing IDs. So they don't need to be acquired, they're already there, and the rules you've established for those methods should remain.

And in your store, if those methods are still available from USPS under their new names, they'll show the old name in the shipping drop down since the Shipping SuperMod has effectively allowed you to rename how the method appears in the store.

Not sure if I'm talking in circles or if you're following, since I haven't slept much this week, let me know if that made any sense. :)

I think I just figured it out. In the 'Acquire Methods' section the Simulated Total and Simulated Weight default to '1' (presumably 1 pound). One pound is more than those shipping methods allow. I changed both to .25, then ran Acquire Methods and all applicable methods formerly missing came through. Hope that helps.

I notice too that the new First Class Mail Package has a code in Shipping Supermod of 1 vs the old First Class Mail Parcel, which was 18. Consequently, the new method does not replace the old, as there are now two methods showing up. It seems necessary to figure out anew which products you would want to apply the particular shipping method.

Okay, I'm getting first class packages as available now, but not flats. We ship a lot of first class flats.

Specifically, I am not pulling up this: First-Class Mail® Flat

It is a class we need, we ship magazines. It's our primary business.

In the 'Acquire Methods' module, that comes with the Shipping Supermod, set the Simulated Total and Simulated Weight to something fractional. I used .25 rather than the default values of 1. First Class Mail has a weight limit of 13 ounces so you can't acquire it as a shipping method unless you change those simulated settings to something less than 1 pound.
