Free Version 5 Module

Dear All,

I have written a Version 5 Payment Module that will show a Payment Method Selection of: Test Order in the Paymet Drop down only if you use the Shipping First Name of: Test and the Shipping Last Name of: Order

If any other names are used the Module will not be activated and nothing is shown in the Payment Method Selection drop down for this Module. This way you can leave the Module Assigned to the store and not worry about Shoppers picking the Payment Method of Test Order.

Now you have a way to make Test Orders without having to Assign or Activate/Deactivate COD or some other Module. You do not have to run the Test Order through you Payment Gateway and Refund / Void the Test Order.

Thank you Nerd Boy. That's exactly what I am looking for. Now, since I'm very new to Miva, would you be able to tell me how to install this file? It's a single file. Do I just upload it and/or run some kind of maintenance setup on Miva. Any help on setup instructions would be much appreciated.

Excellent idea! Affiliates can also use it to test if automated notice of purchase via e-mail is working or not.

Log into your Miva Merchant 5 admin. Click [Add] next to the Modules link. Then upload the testorder.mvc file. And you're done! Cheers!

I've coded our customer info fields to change the case automatically to all caps. Will this still work or is it case-sensitive?

When I hit test order in the payment drop down, it somes up with AMEX. Is this right. do i just put in any numbers or what?

no that is not right.
You should choose Test Order, Continue, Continue and your transaction should be complete. Worked for me in 5.0 and works in 5.5

If using inventory tracking, would it be neessary to readjust inventory after using this module?

In 5.5 I installed the module, checked the box in Payment Settings, but it's not showing up in the payment drop down when using first name Test last name Order in checkout. It's the MerchantTutorials.com sandbox store, so not much in there. Anything I'm missing in 5.5? I did a tutorial just fine for MM5.
