Using social networking sites

How do you use social networking sites (Facebook, stumblupon, etc.) to promote you business?

On many sites, such as this one for example http://www.mpiii.com/ , I see a bunch of icons that you can click to "bookmark" it on the social networking site. Is something like this possible in MIVA?

I haven't tried this on a Miva Merchant page, but I don't see any reason it would not work:

Just added it to the top of the cat tree at my sandbox site http://www.merchanttutorials.com/mm5/merchant.mvc. I got the code from the AddThis site and pasted it in the cat tree header.

Our products cater mostly to college students. We have a Myspace page. We use the blog section to promote sales and offer coupon codes. Facebook will be our next venture in to social networking.

Face book will probably be done this spring or summer. We are swamped right now for the holiday season.

I just realized that addthis is causing an Would you like to display non-secure items? in IE.
How do I combat that?

So I tried this, and now button is not being displayed at all.

What am I doing wrong?

I am still getting an error in IE and addthis IS being displayed, but in Firefox it is not being displayed at all.

If you are using AddThis on a https:// page you will need to make some small changes.
In the code of the widget replace http://s7.addthis.com or http://s5.addthis.com with https://secure.addthis.com/.
That's it. All features will continue to work the same.
