User group permission added for MM updates

I've love to see a user group permission added for MM updates. That way we can only have the appropriate people do the Miva updates.

PS: If there is a way currently to lock some people out of running the updates let me know please!!

I was under the impression only Administrators could run updates, unless you are suggesting only certain users with Administrator rights.
    Thank you, Bill Davis

I don't know who can and I don't see a way to restrict it. AND I don't see anywhere where it's logged so management can say "stop it!". I'd like confirmation and/or features. :)

You have to be an Admin to run updates and best practice is to only have 1 admin. So anyone you don't want running Updates shouldn't have administrative privileges (and in general no one should have those privileges unless they absolutely need them).

Does this mean 'store owners' are no longer, by default, the one true admin? cause many times, that's just the person who pays the bills :)

It almost sounds like there needs to be one more level of privileges. Many store owners don't want to be the one that "clicks that button", they prefer someone who understands what the ramifications are and they trust that person to handle that task (while they pay the bills).

                A couple things:

                1. The default setup hasn't changed, by default there's one user and since only one, they have to also be the admin.

Best practice is to decide who is going to run updates and make them the admin (the store owner may want to also keep that privilege but setup a second daily use login without that privilege so they don't accidentally run updates if that's a concern).

Think of it this way, we use Salesforce at Miva, I'm the one who "pays the bills" so to speak and signs the contract, I do not use my login as the Admin, we've assigned that role to our Salesforce Administrator.

                Same thing goes here.

                2. We won't be adding any more privileges because they don't make logical hierarchal sense. The admin by definition has 100% of all privileges, if there's an issue with people running updates when they shouldn't, we've already provided all the tools necessary to mitigate that, assuming they use them.
                Thanks,
