Tis' the season?

I'm seeing a HUGE (like 100% increase) in spam the couple of weeks or so. Is it just the holiday season or did I just sign up with a non-ethical service? oddly, most is addressed to my business email which i NEVER use for non-business sign ups--even then, i often use my throw-away gmail account when doing 'free trials'.

On second thought...the timing also seems to coincide with an Outlook update...perhaps they messed up their spam filtering. Given the recent "lets monitize everything including your login screen" that doesn't seem too far-fetched.

I use unique email addresses per vendor I buy things from, and have seen a steady increase in all email advertising, mostly ongoing reminders of hey shipping will be tight this year buy sooner rather than later.

yea, I usually use my 'i don't monitor this email account for purchases'. this is my main business account which I don't even use to sign up for services in general (i use a global 'business account for that) and these are not 'followup' emails. they are marketing for products and services i would never use...oh well.
