We're looking for a designer/developer/engineer to help us with the upgrade of our site from Miva 4.13 to Miva 9.003. In particular we need help implementing design changes using the appropriate html5 practices.
We're not techies by any stretch and have gone about as far as we can go without professional help. Miva helped a bit with the installation of the Moda Suivant Ready Theme and the migration of our products/categories, etc. - but beyond that they tell us that if we want any further help from them we'll need to buy a minimum of 5 blocks of support time @$150/hr (block).
We've been maintaining our live site for several years (it was professionally designed, developed and installed by a Miva developer in 2003; he has subsequently left the field so we're at a loss). Miva Support initially informed us that using the Moda Suivant Ready Theme would be infinitely easier than anything we'd done in Miva 4.13, but we're not finding this to be the case at all. Now they tell us that our live site is not responsive, so any code that we'd be bringing over from that site to the development site will cause issues (and will not be compliant).
In addiiton, "Tables are no longer used in the readytheme layouts so we should try using divs and css instead". The problem with this is that we've never worked with divs or css...and the clock is ticking away, as we pay the exorbitant monthly fees for being non-compliant as well as for using software that is dubbed to be "End of Life" software.
Sorry for the long-windedness, but we're frustrated at this point and want to make our situation as clear as possible, so you know what we're talking about. Following is the URL to our live site:
https://www.lusciouscargo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv
And here is the URL to our Dev Site:
http://dev.lusciouscargo.com/mm5/mer...vc?Screen=SFNT
We welcome any and all offers, quotes, suggestions, etc. Thanks much in advance!
