help with htaccess rewrite rule

I have a 3rd party live chat script on the same site as a Miva store. When I try to access the live chat script, I get Miva's Not Found page. For example: http://globalseafoods.com/phplive/setup/ or http://globalseafoods.com/phplive/
I've been advised to add a custom rewrite rule to the htaccess file, but I don't know how to do that. I wonder if anyone can help.
