Computing the shipping for orders continues to be the greatest problem I face with my website. We are using cbs-supshipping5 and access the USPS and FedEx for real-time quotes for each order. However, the actual shipping at the backend, after the transaction is complete is frequently different (and most times it is more).
We also have products that can use the flat-rate boxes from the USPS but the system does not anticipate this when figuring the cost. Some of our products are very heavy but will fit the boxes for a substantial cost reduction. But we are not showing this option at check out and I am sure it is causing some abandoned carts.
Would appreciate hearing from someone with experience in solving these types of shipping problem.
