Restrict FedEx Shipping based on Transit Time

We need to NOT display FedEx ground for people who live in a 4-5 day shipping range. We could restrict by zip code seasonally but that is ALOT of zip codes and has to be changed out twice a year.

FedEx said to do the following:

Use FedEx Web Services to determine the Ground Transit Time and code a condition that:
If Ground Transit Time is less than 4 days then set the service type to Ground or Home Delivery.
If the Ground Transit Time is greater than 4 days then set the service type to say Express Saver or Express 2 day.

Is this possible - if so, what would be the cost?

Hi, I can help you with this. I have a module that reads transit-time information for Fedex (and also for UPS and Canada Post, if that's of interest). The module is intended for displaying arrival dates to customers; but it should be easy enough to use it to restrict the display of shipping methods when the number-of-days is in a certain range.
