    ACAD - Customer Create

    I was told by a few of our customer service reps they get this call a lot in regards to customers creating their own accounts on the site and putting their email address for the "Username" field. I was going to simply put a note on that screen next to the field for customers stating not to use it.

    For some reason I thought customers could use the email address as the username or is it that they can use the username or email to login in once it is created?

    With they told me a lot sooner but it is what it is.

    Not sure if this could be template/framework/verion related, but since, like forever, miva REQUIRES that usernames be 'email addresses'.

      That's what I thought. I just tested it and when I put an email address in the username spot I get the message below but nothing is red.

      "One or more required fields were not filled out correctly."

      We are using Miva Merchant 10.02.00

        This is likely an out of date template, we added this feature years ago but if you've been upgrading an old site over the years you likely need a small template code change, I'd contact support for the fastest help, but I'll ask them to chime in with directions as well.
