I would think that, whatever system the brick & mortar store is using, it probably has some sort of API or webhook capability. If so, a module can pull data; and/or the POS system can push data to Miva using the JSON API.
Exactly! I had one store move to BigCommerce because they switched to Square in store (and Square was already built-in to it). They really wanted to stay with Miva but in the end BigCommerce was easier for them (they have an extremely large inventory to manage).
Kent, I'll have to ask one customer more questions regarding their current setup with Auth.net. I need to verify how they are "ringing up" the order. She mentioned using QuickBooks to track inventory.
I have just been told that as of May 2023 Intuit POS will not be serviced and as of October 2023 there will not longer be security updates. They want you to go to Shopify POS.
If I have to go to Shopify I will have to move AWAY from MIVA.
What other POS systems have your customers used that work with MIVA?
I have a very busy Retail store with 3 registers and multiple other workstations 7 intuit POS licenses , 10,000 items+
Looking for suggestions
I've written a few POS and inventory-control hookups. I would think that, whatever system the brick & mortar store is using, it probably has some sort of API or webhook capability. If so, a module can pull data; and/or the POS system can push data to Miva using the JSON API. I'll be glad to discuss a project with any of your clients, to see what's feasible and how much it will cost.
Kent, I may be reaching out to you after I have my client figure out all the points that need to be tied together as they being forced to move away from Intuit's QuickBooks Point of Sale which they have been using for years now with T-Hub as the connector.

Reason: Needed to mention T-Hub
Hi folks, I'm returning to this thread because I just had another inquiry about using Miva for POS.
I did have one client who used Miva as the "cash register" in their physical store. But it was a B2B store, and most of their customers probably paid with PO's, checks, etc. For a retail store, many customers will pay with credit cards; and typing in the card numbers seems outdated and insecure.
Has anyone integrated Miva with a credit card reader, so that card numbers can be entered by inserting or tapping the card? Can you give me some names, and maybe some code?

Hi Judy! Sorry I missed your post. I feel your pain. I had one store owner move to BigCommerce because they had Square in the brick-and-mortar store. One store had multiple retail locations in two states. I had hopes that Square POS would be natively included with Miva. PayPal has a POS that I had hoped might tie into Miva. I wonder how many Miva stores also have brick-and-mortar stores. That might be a great survey question for them to ask as I don't think a vast majority of store owners pop over here to the forums.
