In UA, we sent the order subtotal as the ecommerce value for the order as we really don't want to include tax and shipping when calculating ROAS. We were using '&mvtj:order:subtotal;' on the INVC page. When on INVC, do you see any issues in assigning l.data_layer_item:ecommerce:value a value="l.settings:order:subtotal" instead of "l.settings:order:total"?

Basic implementation is taking me about an hour. Miva has done a VERY GOOD job with the documentation of this implementation. You do not need to update to 10.07 to do the implementation.

In reviewing ecommerce purchases by item, I am seeing something odd. For items actually purchased, the added to cart quantity (most are listed as zero) is less than the purchased quantity. When testing yesterday and in looking at real-time activity, I see the add to cart event.

Must have been a timing thing. Now the added_to_cart column is populated with values > 0. GA4 reporting seems to lag a bit more than UA.

In Google Analytics, the "Ecommerce Purchases" report lists the "Item Revenue" value (which should exclude the Tax & Shipping amounts) and be helpful for determining your ROAS.

The way it currently is setup is to match the Miva values to the Google Analytics Event Reference specification. Altering the values would likely technically work, but may divert Google Analytics metrics from their definitions:
              • Item Revenue - The total revenue from items only minus refunds, excluding tax and shipping.
              • Ecommerce Revenue - Total revenue from purchase events, including tax and shipping.
I would recommend reviewing the Item Revenue information in GA instead of essentially altering the Ecommerce Revenue to become the Item Revenue. However, GA4 is highly configurable and it may just be a matter of personal preference in determining what works best for your store's reporting needs.

From what I can tell, the Ecommerce Purchase's report is using the item-level information for each purchase transaction vs. using the order level order total. However, at least with UA, that is not the value attributed to conversions and reported ROAS in Google Ads.

Our store does not use the SKU field. Does anyone know if we will we need to implement that for GA4?

I see Item SKU as a dimension to create in the MIVA document.

                  Thank you -

Adding the Custom Dimensions are recommended, but entirely optional. Since you are not going to be outputting SKU information, there is no need to add the Item SKU dimension for your setup in the Google Analytics admin.

Are there any instructions to manually add the resources in the miva-import.xml file?

We cannot currently import the miva-import.xml file. The import says "processing file" and never finishes. We also cannot add/update products from a CSV file. Tech Support is working on the import/add/update problems. In the meantime, I was thinking there might be instructions on another way to accomplish the same as the import.

                        Thank you -

Valerie, I ran into a similar problem with a site and the problem had to do with Cloudflare CDN. If the site is using Cloudflare, try going to the head tag section and adding <mvt:comment></mvt:comment> to the section. Update, and Cloudflare should validate your secure connection. Then you should be able to import the file. If it's not using Cloudflare, disregard this message...

Leanne Thank you, thank you, thank you! This works. Yes, we use Cloudflare.

I had not been able to upload CSV files either and now I can. Very frustrating couple of weeks and I was ready to dump Cloudflare.

ILoveHostasaurus See Leanne's post at 9:35pm on 6/29/2023 for the solution.

                            Happy Friday!

So glad that it worked! But the thanks really goes to delcorsets who was the one that helped me to get it sorted out.

After stepping through the GA4 + Supplemental documents for a few of our sites, we are seeing the improved event/ecommerce tracking but also duplicate users in analytics. Events themselves do not appear to be duplicated, and the GTM tag is only on the page once.

                                Is anyone else encountering this?
