Creating a category coupon

Where is the how-to for creating coupons that can be used for an entire category? Seems what I'm trying to do isn't working. I get a "Your basket is not eligible for the specified coupon." error everytime.

Is the price group assigned to the coupon set to discount an entire category? What is the eligibility set to for the price group and what type of price group is it?

Hey Wayne,

The Coupon Code SPRING15 is assigned to the Price Group 15% off $50+

The Price Group 15% off $50+ is a Coupon Only Product Discount

The discount is 15.00 Percent

But the Apply To All Products Unless Excluded is NOT checked - does it need to be? (I don't think it does).


The Discounted Categories has one category assigned.

There are not exclusions.

When added one of the products from the assigned category and then applying the coupon at check it give the mentioned error message.

Thank you Wayne, for all your help. I might need to have the store owner reach out for additional insight. Now that she sees the power of the built in coupons she wants to try all sort of things
