.edu email addresses

We just had a customer say the system won't let him create an account with a .edu email address. It doesn't recognize it as valid (probably because it is looking for a .com at the end). Is there a setting to change this? Thank you!

I just created a customer account on the store with email address [email protected] without issue. The address validation modal did popup and prompted me to confirm my address but email address was accepted. Do you have a way to replicate their issue?
