Can customs fees be paid during checkout?

    HI Folks,
Can customs fees be paid during checkout? If so, how? If not, what is the standard method for dealing with them?
    Thanks!

You might be able to do something creative with your store's tax module, depending on how the fees are calculated, and how sophisticated the module is. I've provided custom solutions for a couple of stores; you're welcome to contact me to discuss one for you.

birdwaves are you referencing "customs fees" as in shipping to other countries? If so I believe that the UPS i-parcel module will be the best bet .. https://apps.miva.com/ups-i-parcel.html

Thanks for the tip Nick. Looking into this now. And yes, by "Customs" I mean for international shipping. Right now our customers are getting hit up for the fees after they go through checkout. See this from the Store manager:
" When (the shipping person at our company) enters the shipping address in Endicia, a box pops up if there are customs fees and ask if we want to pay it or if we want the customer to pay it. Right now we say we want the customer to pay it but then the customer is getting hit with a surprise customs fee which I assume they thought was included with the cost of shipping. It should just be included. I would think when the customer enters their shipping address on the website, MIVA would be able to determine of there were customs fees or not and include those with the shipping charges. Maybe MIVA is not really set up for international shipping?

Just trying to make the whole buying experience better for our international customers. Seems like shipping is super expensive as it is. Then it takes forever to get to them and they’re possible even having to pay more money just to get it. (Our former international vendor), in their best year, gave us over $100,000. 90% of their sales were international. I’d like to get some of those sales. And we are seeing a lot of international orders coming through. Just afraid they won’t be ordering again.

All seems way more complicated than it should be…."

I'm not clear on if this requires a purchase or subscription. I downloaded the module for free, but the Sign Up now link on the page you linked to is a dead link....

          Thanks for your input.

Miva doesn't calculate duties and tax, only Shipping (they're different). The best ways to pre-calc duties and tax and collect at Checkout on behalf of your customer is Zonos or the I-parcel module. There are many similar services though, but those 2 I know.
            Thanks,
