I recently received an email from Google stating that pages are not being indexed due to a redirect. I have an old Miva store with the /Merchant2/file structure. My sitemap.xml cites the old long canonical format and is found and read by google but is not indexed. However, google wants to index the shortened redirected format, e.g. storename/product/product name.html format and returns an error stating it wont index due to the redirect.. This seemed to work up until recently, what am I not understanding?
