Force Email Verification prior to setting up customer account

    Team,

Is there a way to force email verification for customers trying to create accounts. We have an influx of fraudulent account creation attempts and have had to suspend recaptcha due to the sheer volume overloading our Recaptcha quota. We are working on a Cloudflare solution but until I can migrate our DNS Records and Nameservers, I need a stop gap.

    Thank you,

Could not agree with you more. I have added reCaptcha V3 module and this does nothing. It just seems to be worse now. The name is always like xyshgdgdags ydhsuhfsyasf and I am constantly just deleting them all day I get 20-50 a day. Are these being created on the customer-log-in or is it some sort of off-site bot hitting that url and slamming sites with new crap customers. Is this also related to the 10,000 plus baskets each day. Miva needs to help with this as it is very annoying and I assume there are hundreds of Miva shops where the operator is not even paying attention to this and they have tens of thousands of these crap customer accounts..

We have just noticed hundreds of fake accounts. I do not see a captcha setting that can be enabled for the Account Creation page - can miva please add this as a feature suggestion? I tried to manually delete the fake accounts, but an error is returned (see below). The error always states that 1 deletion was successful but the rest failed...

Miva Merchant returned an invalid response.
      Function: CustomerList_Delete
      Status: 200

x2jones The Google reCAPTCHA v3 module can be setup for any form that is present on the page. When installed the reCAPTCHA v3 module is setup to protect the account creation page by default, you just need to activate the action.

Do you have the Google reCAPTCHA v3 module installed: https://docs.miva.com/miva10/referen...e/recaptcha-v3

As for the error you are seeing, I suggest you send a ticket into [email protected], they should be able to help you troubleshoot. From the looks of the error message you are using a depreciated coupon module that should be replaced with the default Miva coupon price groups.

miloport I would suggest sending a ticket into [email protected] to get your Google reCAPTCHA setup evaluated. It sounds like there is an issue with the setup of the feature because you should not be getting so many spam accounts created.

Nick We have ReCaptcha v3 but due to the volume coming through, had to shut it down because it shut us down. Are there any 3rd Party Modules that would help with email verification or force an email to be sent requiring confirmation of the email address before the account is created?
