Change Order Numbers

I would like to change the order numbers in a store back to 1000. I searched the forums and see that I can do it by changing a dbf file. I have not done this and don't know how. Can anyone help me with this?

Other posts mention a Sebenza module, but it's not available anymore.

For Merchant 4 or 5?....and I don't think any module would do that...we have one that's we've given to clients and anyone who asks, but it wont let you go lower...that would be a really bad idea...and there is no practical reason to do this. If you just want an easy to remember starting point...make it 10,000 (you, have, if i recall, 9,999,989,999 left).

It's Miva 4. My client says having orders in the 10000 range will cause problems and confusion for his pickers and wants to go back to 1000 and start again.

Is there a way to do this?

ah, you're client is, well, delirious...and no, this specifically can't be done without causing a lot of potential problems. Depending on what they are using for picking, I suppose you could change the format of the order number to look like, for example, instead of 87345. 8 73 45 or something, but seriously, maybe he needs to hire new pickers...
