Shipping error if weight is over 150 lbs

I get this error when I try to checkout with items that weigh over 150 lbs:

Error Code: MER-SUI-MMU-00002
Description: Shipping Selection is required and no shipping methods were found. Please contact the administrator directly.

We are using USPS Online Rate Calculation, UPS Domestic Shipping Calculator, and Sort Shipping plus Free Shipping Option as our shipping options.

UPS might be possible but certainly not USPS to ship a 150# package. My guess is because of that they error out and do not return a calculation Because you can't ship it that way can you turn off USPS for it. Are you using the built in UPS module?

UPS and FedEx packages max out at 75lbs/each, I believe, too. If you ship larger orders you have to either split them up into multiple boxes, or use freight rates. Check with Viking Coders for shipping modules - their modules allow you to split orders into multiple boxes so you can still use standard UPS, USPS and FedEx shipping options, and their modules calculate multi-box shipping rates automatically.
