OK, I reviewed that support ticket. I don't have any problem discussing it in the Forum. As I understand it, you reported a problem that one of your clients has with the Stone Edge Order Manager and passwords that use certain punctuation characters. That problem was fixed a couple of weeks ago in our latest Miva script. You requested a copy of that script so you could distribute it to your clients who use the Order Manager. We told you that you are not entitled to it, and that your clients would have to get it themselves.

I assume that whoever you spoke to here also pointed out that our scripts are only available to Order Manager users with current support contracts, and that in some cases, they might also need an update to the Order Manager itself to use a new script, which also requires a current support contract. And, of course, you have no way of knowing who is entitled to the updates, and we have to protect our intellectual property. Apparently you told our representative that this was the second time we had denied your request for a script, and that you were going to stop recommending the Order Manager.

Unless I have the facts wrong, I stand by our policies and what you were told. If you want to stop recommending the Stone Edge Order Manager, that is certainly your right. But if I were one of your clients, I think I would want a better reason for deciding whether to recommend a product or not. (BTW - Rick has my phone number, and we have spoken many times. It is 610-994-3699 ext. 111, in case anyone else wants to call. That is the kind of factor that I think should be given more weight when making business software recommendations!)

Re: Dydacomp - MOM and PR7

I have a client that uses Mom and is still in Miva 4. We are researching aspects of their going to Wombat. What is the final word on the MOM connector? Was anyone ever able to get it to work with PR7 and how does it work with the new attribute variants?

And, no, you are not dreaming that I posted this. It is real and a real answer will be appreciated:-) If in doubt...just spin.

Well I can tell you they finally paid their partner fee so I assume a final fix with be forthcoming. We shall see.

I also think Andreas and Ray at PCI Net have their own custom built MOM Module, you may ask them.

Excellent, will do. Will be looking forward to see how MOM works with the attribute variants.

Interestingly... with our acquisition of VikingCoders, this is now possible for us to do, we have the V4 module. Let me know if anyone is interested in sponsoring development for making this generally available as a MM5 Wombat module.

Great point...I have let my clients know...I would think there would be enough interest in this if it was supported and updated appropriately, as i know you would.

I received an updated version of the module, installed and tested it in two stores so far. I seems to be working. Just FYI.

Would you mind sharing what version of MOM those two stores are using? (NOT the module, but the Software itself.)

I have a client that is using version 6.2, having fought hard to get all the bugs worked out up to that point and not wanting to update in case it will mean having to fight again to get bugs worked out.

Anyone want to share about what version numbers are working for them post 6.2?

My client says they are using 7i but I would think it's more like 7.1.

                          Actually it is version 7i.

I have been asked recently if I could pass this file onto others. I apologize but it would be totally irresponsible of me to do so, so please don't ask me to.

This is 3rd party software and due to the various versions of your PC/MAC installations and Miva Merchant installations, just installing any old module could disrupt your entire day, not to speak of disabling your store.

I highly recommend that you work with your representative over at Dydacomp, because they are the experts and there are just too many variables to consider when supporting their 3rd party software. This particular module was an export for Miva orders into MOM version 7i. The Miva platform was version PR7. If your store meets those criteria, then just let Dydacomp know and they will send you over the appropriate module and you can upgrade the one you have within the Miva Admin.

I want to take this minute to thank ALL the folks at Dydacomp for supplying us with this solution. I apologize if I had to stomp my feet a bit but I had no other solution available to me and my client(s) were literally stuck in the stand with PCI compliance penalties looming around there store(s). In the end, the solution came to me from Ken Burton and I recommend contacting him if you need help. I realize he isn't the only one responsible for delivering the updated module but he's a responsible and reliable middle man, so thank you Ken.

I contacted Ken, and quickly recieved a reply including the update, very much appreciated. But the update hasn't quite fixed our problem. Now, instead of not getting the credit card info transferred into MOM at all, we are getting the placeholders for the encrypted credit card info (ie. 'Secured') as text.

Has anyone run into this problem?

Was this ever corrected? I would really like to get this update as I am getting around 100-150 orders a day and there is a major difference between one click into MOM compared to entering all the order manually.

Hand keying 100-150 orders per day? Wow! Maybe it's time to consider a change?
