Show Product SKU in basket

Is there a way to show a Product SKU in the BASK page, instead of the Product Code?

I've tried using &mvt:product:sku; instead of &mvt:item:code; but nothing shows up.

Is there an Item that needs to turned on in the BASK page?

if its there...it would be &mvt:item:sku; not "product:sku". If its not there, you'd need toolkelt and then ask them (or someone else).

You probably have the Emporium Plus Tool Kit. So all you need to do is add this code to the basket contents template.
<mvt:item name="toolkit" param="vproduct_find|prdfound|l.all_settings:item: code" />
&mvt:key_product:sku;

Why yes I do have toolkit.

I was able to make it work using the parameters as specified in the plugin:

<mvt:item name="toolkit" param="vproduct_find|productfound|Product_Code" />

&mvt:key_product:sku;

but not with:

<mvt:item name="toolkit" param="vproduct_find|prdfound|l.all_settings:item: code" />

Can you explain the difference?

This forum puts space where you least expect them. Take out the space between the : and the word code.

product_code will not work correctly if you have more than one thing in the basket.

Well I've made that change and nothing is rendering.

I'm wondering too if I'm even going at this the right way.

I'm trying to use the Product SKU in place of the Product Code in the basket, with a plan to use Shipworks to download the SKU rather than the Code (still not sure if that's possible) for our inventory management.

The whole point of this is so that we can use the Code field to produce more semantic urls.

We've always used Product Codes like "BW100" but are trying to use the SEO short links so that our urls are more keyword-rich, like "...big-widget-100.htm."

I just want nice semantic urls without a lot of htaccess rewrites.

What exactly do you have for the lines to display the sku? I tested and the code I gave you (without the space) works fine.

My mistake. I didn't have <mvt:item name="toolkit" param="vproduct_find|prdfound|l.all_settings:item: code" /> inside the foreach loop.

Will <mvt:item name="toolkit" param="vproduct_find|prdfound|l.all_settings:item: code" /> work in any page template?

No. Just where the foreach loop iterator is "item".

Now that I've got that to work I've tried to find the sku in the order output, but it doesn't appear that it's included. I exported a test order to a flat file and there's no field for the product sku.

What is the purpose of that field if you can't export the value?

Like the baskets, that field isn't included in the orders either. So you need a module that does a lookup in the products table to determine what it is.

Or, is there a module that can create urls from the Product Name? I've worked with another e-commerce app has the ability to turn a product's name, like "The Big Widget", and convert the url into "the-big-widget.htm".

One could easily be modified to export the sku in addition to or in place of the code.

You can put the name in the url now. However, you cannot use just the product name to lookup a product because several products could have the same name. You have to use the unique product code in the url to find the exact product.

I'm not sure what you mean by "lookup"? Are you referring to search, or the way miva/modules do lookups?

Miva Merchant requires the product code in the url in order to find the product.

There are many ways to include the name in addition to the product code. How you do it depends on your link structure.
