format numbers

Any way to format a number to decimal 2 places.
I'm changing formated_currency to just numbers, it drops trailing zeros so $0.00 becomes 0 and $4.20 becomes 4.2 .
How can I format it to 0.00 and 4.20?

Newer versions of MM can do this natively.

<mvt:eval expr="glosub(l.settings:item:formatted_price, '$', '')" />

-- will display the formatted_price value with the dollar sign removed, and everything else unchanged. Or another approach:

<mvt:eval expr="l.settings:item:price ROUND 2" />

-- will take the un-formatted price value, and make sure that it has 2 digits after the decimal point, rounding off or adding digits if needed.

You can also use mvt:assign to store the result in a variable, instead of sending it right to the screen. Miva Script has lots of functions for manipulating character strings and numbers. A look thru a manual will probably give you some good ideas.

The code snippet looks correct to me. Leslie, what page template did you try this in? Maybe there were no values assigned to l.settings:product:xxxxx at that point.
