A/B testing

What's the best way to do a/b testing with Miva?

Suppose I have 2 different types of home page I'd like to test. Or 2 different check out pages.

How would I test those and how would I see results where I could compare which performs best?

I see services like Optimizely but I dont really really understand how they work
