Renewing cybersource certificates

I am getting the follwoing error when trying to renew my cybersource security certificates.

Something about your encryption credentials is either invalid or missing: cybersource identity not found for de-enveloping

Anybody know what the issue is? Also if I already have a cybersource account should I use the cybersource ICSv2 payment module or the Miva payment module. I have been using the Cybersource ICSv2 module. Anybody know the difference?

The CyberSource gateway uses a certificate that expires every year and every year renewing the certificate is a frustrating task for most Miva Merchant uses.

The single most important untold fact is "you can't renew your certificate until it is expred" and naturally all store owners want to renew it before it is expired. So you'll need to contact Cybersource to expire the certificate early or wait until it is expired.

When its expired you need to remove the existing one usually in /mivadata/cybersource/ and click the "Generate Certificate" button with the module settings.

That is what I am trying to do, when I click generate certificate I get the error stated above.

Is your certificate expired?

Did you physically remove or rename the existing one on the server. Your host should be able to do this for you.

My certificate expired a few days ago. I host my own sites. I deleted the folders and tried to generate. The process is able to create the cybersource folder under mivadata, but then this error pops up. I am trying to work woth cybersource on it, but they are so far not being much help.

Its been my experience that if the certificate will not generate there is something wrong on Cybersource's end and they are pretty frustrating to deal with. They always say there is nothing wrong on there end.

I am getting the same error regardless of whether I use the Cybersource ICSv2 module or the Miva Payment(Cybersource) module.

What does it mean de-enveloping? Anybody from Miva chime in here?

I don't think this is anything Miva can help you with. You'll need to contact cybersource. That error is most likely coming from them.

Ok, I finally got it all taken care of. I used the ecert.exe program from cybersource's website to create the certificates manually and everything worked fine. I was unable to use the generate buttons in the miva payment or cybersource modules.

Unless something has changed very recently, you may have an installation problem with the cybersource ICSv2 module. I regulary update my certs within the MM5 interface. In fact, when my anniversary was coming up I looked at the ecert program and thought that was the way I had to go. However, when I called into Cybersource Tech Support they told me that it had already been done. The only thing I had done is use the MM5 interface. Glad you got it generated manually but I would ask your host to look at the libraries and make sure everything is correct.

The problem is some CyberSource accounts generate the cert correctly and for unknown reasons others don't and you have to get cybersource involved which is where the frustration begins.

The gateway probably wouldn't work at all if it was a server issue.

I actually just got this same message when I clicked the generate certificates button in MM5.
"Something about your encryption credentials is either invalid or missing: cybersource identity not found for de-enveloping "

I checked the comm lib for the module and even updated it to the latest version from Miva and still does not resolve the error. Everything is set correctly so I'm not sure why the certs are not generating.
